Do you ever get tired of people asking why Vegas?

I am two days away from my 5th trip in 3 years and am soo tired of my friends asking me why the heck I am going to Vegas, AGAIN.

So nice to find a group of people with the same feelings about it

I have not yet been to a "show" in Vegas, or done any site seeing off the strip .. I wake up early, drink, gamble, eat very well, and stay up way too late. I no longer care about having a fancy hotel room since I dont like being in the room much. I care about winning at poker, having a good cocktail waitress, and acting like a 20 year old even though I am almost 40

Its been "our thing" with my boyfriend and I. We get recharged from the energy and manage a little romance now and then, but its just the excitement and energy I love!

And now they keep telling me how much its going to suck in the heat! I dont care if its hot, cold, raining or sunny ... I am pretty sure everyone is going to have a good time I have been there in February, October, and twice in April, so why not experience summer in Vegas.

Very excited for Friday morning and just wanted to post something! Viva Las Vegas!

 

We have friends that just don't get it? Things like:

Didn't you just get back?
Going again?
You must be rich?
or You must be about broke.
What do you do after the first day out there?
What's the point?

 

I think all of us probably get that. I have a list of reasons. I should just have them tatooed on my body somewhere Have a great trip! 11 more sleeps for me

 

I go every couple of months and have never had anybody ask me why we go so often. Usually they're begging to come along too.

I feel the same way, We go to Vegas 2-3times per year. We are going for Labor Day weekend leaving Thursday and returning Monday. We are then going in October because my husbad has a convention there at that time. Labor day weekend has become a yearly thing. However, everyone says "oh your going to VEGAS again" I just think they are jelous. My husband is not a big gambler but likes to have a few coctails. We usually do the sightseeing thing in the early hours or do the pool. Then off to a great dinner some drinks, maybe go to Harrahs and see the dualing pianos. Then its off to bed for him and I play alittle. I love the hustle and bustle of things going on. There is always something to do.

 

I don't get tired of people asking; in fact, I usually go out of my way to make sure they know I'm going. When asked why I go so often, I simply tell them that I don't necessarily want to go back; it's just that I can't help it anymore! About a third of the folks believe me and think I'm addicted (and they might be right), about a third say they love Vegas too and can't want to go back themselves, and the others say they've never been, but would love to go. For the last group, I offer to give them directions to the airport, but evidently they already know the way and have other excuses. It's fun to be a degenerate!

 

Hah! Yes it is!

There is also a large amount of my friends, good friends mind you, that I would not WANT to come to Vegas with me! I dont think I could hang out with any whiners about the heat or the walking or spending all that money on gambling blah blah ..

 

I live in a small town in a rural state and enjoy the bustle of the city for a week or so once or twice a year. I don't care to travel really, no one wants to hear about your vacation or see your pics anyway. LV, seems to be different every trip anyway so there is variety. You can drink or gamble or see shows or enjoy rides, chill out at the pool, skydive, zip line......so much variety for whatever you want to do.

Of course when you say you are going to LV they think you are rich, but then people think the self-employed are rich anyway......we don't pay bills just collect money, deposit it in the bank and go to LV! lol. I just say I am (maybe not in dollars but rich in other ways). They might not think I was so rich if they stayed with me and did what I do but I have a good time! #19 coming up in January.

I love our little "support group" here. Nice to have people who "get" me.

 

People at work hate me because it is all I talk about. But I could care less. I was in the Navy, went to 3 continents and 7 different countries in one year- including Hong Kong (while it was a UK colony), Australia, Pearl Harbor and Vegas is still my favorite city I have ever been to.

 

The one person that I hate to here bitch all the time is the one that took all my winnings last time! Yes the MRS.!
Please Please Please let me go to Vegas.

I told her I was going 4 times next year (Red Head) and I know I saw some Satan red in her eyes.
Oh and after tomorrow DOUBLE DIGITS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

We go about every 6 weeks or so and I definitely get tired of the "why don't you go somewhere else" question. In april of last year, I told my boss I was headed out of town for a few days.....he said "Vegas again"....I responded.."nope, to Montana for my grandmothers' funeral". He rarely comments now....and, it was a true story.

I can never sort out if people are jealous, worried that I'll have too much fun or just think it's amusing to aggravate me with the same question.

As others said....it is definitely nice to have this little support group!

 

i been in beaches(cancun, mazatlan), in severals cities of mexico, i been in New York, Ruidoso to ski, but nothing like Vegas, we enjoy(my wife and me)
like it was the first time ,and yes the friends the same questions and i with the same answers

You are rich ----No i save money all the year for one or two trips to vegas

Once again you go to las vegas---- yes we aint finish to know las vegas

And besides i explain them,we go to Las Vegas because:
we feel healthy, in the city,
we forget the time
we like the people
we like gambling
we like the food
we like the lights in strip of the casinos
we like the noise and shouts when somebody wins
we like beer and cocktails
and i like see the beautiful girls
and so or want more i say them

 

I go 4 times a year for a week at a time. I always get questions (even laughed at) when I say I'm going back to Vegas. At this point I just try to avoid telling anyone where I'm going!

 

I bought a Condo and am going to live out there part time should have seen some of the looks I get when I tell people that in the Bible Belt of Tennessee! Lol but I love me some Vegas!

 

I am relieved to read that others get the same questions and attitude from friends and family. After returning May 20th we booked a trip for Aug 29th.

That is a very good point--I do the same...

 

I want you all to know that you sound like a bunch of gambling-addicted, drunken degenerates...and I love this board for that very reason!

 

Everyone at work thinks I'm rich since I gamble. But they will spend thousands on airfare, hotel, car rental, crappy tee shirts, food and overpriced drinks. I have just as much fun and only pay airfare and one short cab ride. Sometimes I even come home with extra money. I think they are throwing their money away so we are even.
