    My Trip Report

After a very stressful couple of months at work with few true days off, it is time for my new favorite time of year, Halloween in Vegas.

The friends who got me hooked on Vegas, love Halloween in Vegas and have been coming for many years (I'll have to ask them how many later). After going celebrating my birthday in Vegas last year, they told me I had to come back for Halloween. I was sold and booked quickly thereafter. It was awesome, well other than not winning a single dime, and I was ready to book the next year on the plane ride home. Fast forward to 2018, and I have been counting down the days, hours and minutes until I touch down in Vegas for a much-needed respite.

I will start off solo for the first day with my friends flying in on Halloween day. I land tomorrow at 3:30pm and will be staying at The Downtown Grand for the first time. Tomorrow evening I plan to take a pilgrimage to the Strip starting at Aria and Cosmo and who knows where from there.

For Halloween, it will be all downtown with Banger Brewing, Tenaya Creek during the day mixed in with video poker and probably slots (damn you Heidi's Bierhaus and your catchy song). For the evening we will be suiting up and heading down East Fremont to Container Park and Atomic Liquors, then back up to Fremont.

The next couple of days are still up in the air, but I hear Sam's Town owes my friend some money so we'll probably end up there sometime.

I'm hoping to keep this TR live-ish, but that tends to get a little bit harder the more beer is consumed.

Good luck! Looking forward to opinions & pics of the casino and hotel at Downtown Grand. I haven't stopped in there since before it was Downtown Grand.

One night at the Gambling Hall...
    ...followed by two nights downtown

we enjoyed our stay there a few years back (?2015 or 16 i think) I think you will like it; hopefully the casino buzzes a little more than when we were there, but we had fun!

The casino itself is quite nice but has been dead the few times I've stopped in before, usually before or after dinner at Pizza Rock. This will be the first time I've seen it at night, so that should be interesting. I'll grab some pics of the room, going to try a $20 sandwich in hopes for an upgrade.

I'm sure you will like it there. The casino and hotel part is more modern feeling than the other DT properties, the casino is usually quiet enough you can find a table or machine without waiting. We are going on a comped stay in December and expect it to be dead and the dealers to know is by name by the end of our trip. Our friends that stayed there enjoyed it as well as the pool. Even if the bar isn't open, it's a nice place to relax during the day

Checked in to DTG, got a nice corner king. Now at Bangers for my first beer in Vegas, Gourd Vibrations. Enjoying the nice weather on the patio waiting for my Mexican Fries from Food Junky.

Second beer One Off Series: Irish Red with Centennial and Amarillo, very good tasty. Resist with a nice tropical fruit light roastiness in the finish.

Watching the Knights game inside, bag pipe guy was killing the mood outside.

Cool thanks for posting that. Korean fries also sound tasty. And anything called crack sauce gots to be yum. (I have a chicken recipe that’s so good we call it Cracken short for Crack Chicken!! Can’t stop eating it)

The Korean fries are also very good, I can never remember which one I like better so usually end up getting both at some point during the trip :p

First gambling of the trip, DDB at 4 Queens, got the throne seat. First near miss of the trip.

After one of the worst Uber experiences ever, I’ve made to the strip, just in time for the fountain show. First time seeing it for at least 5 years, always awesome.

Currently at Alibi at Aria enjoying a Lack of Restraint courtesy of a My Vegas Reward.

The room at The Grand looks great, the fries sound/look fantastic...if I could drink beer I would love that Irish Red. More food porn please. And please see that your next diamond royal includes the Ace. Hate myVegas...how many hours of mind numbing play on your phone did you do for that 'free' drink at Alibi :poke:
Please post lots of Halloween pics!

I liked DTG when we stopped in there a couple of years ago. Need to get back there at some point.

    Good luck!
