Cosmo transition to MGM Rewards delayed

I would check to be sure as you never know if these perks disappear without notice, but yes you can buy gift cards (including online) and you should get 5x tier points. I did it at the concierge's desk last year then took that receipt to the Identity Desk...no problems. Those gift card dollars disappear pretty quickly if you are dining at Cosmo, but for me the perks were worth it. You can check your gift card balance online which is also pretty easy.
This year, thinking Feb was the transition, I didn't give Cosmo much play and decided not to attain Platinum again. Sorry about that now given the longer interim period, but too late for me. Even so, I still get $75 per week FP and $25 per week in free food as I am a local.

 

A little amazed that there's no update on this, especially since Cosmo said in their original email that they'll send something out in early 2024; then again given that the rumored changeover is going to be sometime in the second half of 2024 timelines have already slipped.

If they still want to say something "early 2024" I take that to mean at the latest the end of Q1 2024 (and honestly March is already kinda pushing the definition of "early").

FWIW I've check the FAQ linked to that email every now and then and there hasn't been any change that I've seen.

 

I asked at the identify desk a few weeks ago. They didn’t know - which is probably the truth, but I’m guessing that’s the official line to take also

 

I called in to use my sterling room benefit (1 free room night a year) and the agent said that even the date that they were told (july) was now pushed back. The Sterling benefits are pretty decent for a minimal amount of gambling. The free room I just booked was for a busy Saturday night in a terrace studio... so thats pretty dang good. I cant ever hope to get anything remotely close to that after the MGM transition. The agent pretty much acknowledged that, but said that I might be able to squeeze out another (my renewal is feb 2025), which would be pushing the transition for another year.

 

I just got back from a 3nt stay at Cosmo Monday and got an offer today good until May 29,2024, I have no offers past that date but I'm not reading into it too much.

 

I just love it, this will be my 3rd back to back Cosmo and MGM property stay since the first so called deadline, they can take as long as they want

 

Are MGM and Cosmo linked to the point where you cannot double book at an MGM Property and Cosmo for the same time period? I'm booked at Nomad / Park MGM in May, but wanted to use a comp offer at Cosmo for the same dates for my brother.

 

It didn't stop me from double booking in the system. Now, if they are tracking that and will penalize you somehow I don't know.

 

When will Cosmo rooms start to show up on the Mlife app? I would assume if a person is getting comp’d at the Bellagio they will be getting comp’d at Cosmo.

It’s a huge mystery

 

During my very recent one-night stay at Costco, one casino host made specific reference to August.

 

Yeah a vip agent also mentioned August a couple days ago “but wouldn’t be surprised if it got pushed again”

On a side note, I was still able to match back up to Identity platinum with my MGM platinum and get the $250 RC added to my stay. I think they only do it for mgm platinum

 

Are they still doing status matches?

 

My host told me August. I said are you going to still be my host he laughed “ well I just signed a new contract “

 

Is it possible to do this the other way around? If I am Identity Platinum, will that match to anything at MGM?

 

Cosmo finally sent out an email... only to say that the transition will happen later in 2024 (ha)

 

I saw that e-mail.... And if there was an award for the most uninformative informational e-mail, that one would be in the running, lol
