So looking at that loss number of over $12,000, you are donating a little over $3000.00 per month to Vegas. I understand that you get suites, limo rides (sometimes), tickets to events, food, etc, but that's still a pretty decent amount of your own cash that you are losing. We still have 8 months left in the year, and with the frequency of trips that you are taking, due to the close proximity to Vegas, about 2 trips per month, that could end up as a pretty hefty loss in a single year, unless of course there are winning trips ahead, hopefully!!!

I fully believe there will be winning trips ahead. And I don't say that in a "im a gambler, im due to win" way. Will I recover the 12k? Probably not. Will I have gotten more in comps than my losses? Probably.

Comps are nice, but cash is still king!! They will keep giving you the comps just so you can visit more often, knowing that you will leave your cash there more often than not.

I actually think CVP is doing pretty good.
Last year I had ~10 Vegas trips, every trip I (at least partially) stayed and played at MGM casinos. My total loss was way way above $12000.
You know what I earned? When this year started and the tier credit reset, I became Sapphire.
It means last year I didn't even earn 25,000 TCs after 10 trips and much more than $12000 loss. I never got suites, limo or event ticket from MGM.

I also think you are doing great. Phenomenally actually. I mean if you calculate even just the price per night (I am surprised you don’t have a column for number of nights and then a cell for cost per night) I think that is way way less than what you would spend for the types of rooms you are getting, meals you are eating, and money you may have spent on other entertainment. I mean I do think $2-3k is a lot of money per month (for me a least) but $1500 for a 4-5/6 day trips like you are taking is a steal. Mr. 9th and son are soending more than that on a travel soccer trip this weekend and their accommodations and meals are no where near the quality of what you are getting.

He is doing awesome. I lose more than that each trip and don’t have anything close to his attention.

What was your average loss per year (pre 2024)? I’m thinking even if you manage to get half back (you’re good)….

See, later this month, I'll be staying at non-MGM properties in Vegas. And staying and playing, but not under my card...So I guess I should add some more columns/sheets to track everything...

But as far as MGM goes, it looks this year I have stayed 33 nights. (Ok that includes the few nights at the end of December, 2023 but still) That's a cost per night of $377, including food costs.

That's actually not terrible considering the quality of room, vacation time with the GF, food, etc.

I should probably go less often though... (ignore the 3 trips I have planned this month):poke:

    I don't have records that are as accurate, but 2023 was a 16k loss, 2022 was $3500 ($17k of handpays helped!), 2021 was $1200, 2020 was $1800, 2019 was $440.

Not a good trend!:eek::eek: Buy stock in whatever casino chain I decide is my new favorite! lol

Shit. I didn’t realize you overshot last year. My advice would be to gradually go down. You can probably milk it for 3/4 years….

I have 3 this month too, but all at MGM I may have to cut one out due to time constraints, and the potentially major change to freeplay distribution…
Definitely going to seek an offer match or 4 around town to explore other venues-

Can't imagine how hard MGM is shooting themselves in the foot with this change, if it's chasing away players like you, directly into their competition. Seems short sighted...
