Still sticking to the usual 6 weeks twice a year so far. At least for our spring trip.

May or may not be staying off strip in a condo/hotel for the full duration.

Also considering a quick side trip to see a friend for a couple of days.

It’s all open, apart from the already booked flights that will cost a fortune to change.

We’ll probably go less often; with larger bankrolls...we just got our ass handed to us this past Christmas trip (3x normal bankroll loss) so we’re only planning on going later this month (already had it planned); then only for my wife’s birthday in June and my birthday in October...
Also probably stick to only bets of less than $10 on slots/vp (although this last trip we played some $30 a shot Ultimate X which we hadn’t done in a while)

Just came back and SO said she has no desire to go back for a while so I might have to round up some of the guys and bring the sticks - probably Nov/Dec as we have some other things on the go and some other travel lining up.

I have been going twice a year, spring and fall, for many many years...
but I think I have to drop back to one trip a year due to finances.
It will seriously break my heart......:(

Sadly, I'm going to be cutting back a little this year but it's probably for the best. I average monthly 3 night trips but I'm taking a new position at work that will require 75% travel. Unfortunately, none of those work trips are going to take me to Vegas, lol.

Going in may and planning on getting higher and get some edibles for this trip. My trip in sept 2017 only got a little weed and it was awesome and planning on doing more of everything this time lol. Other than that nothing will really change as i usually only go 1 time a year for 5-6 days.

I'll probably go on the same number of trips -2. It's unclear if my February trip is a go, but if not, I can go some other time. If MyVegas does another 3 night reward, I may pounce on that and get an addition trip in!

Gambling wise, probably fewer slots, unless I am crushing them. I know they are not the wise choice, but they're so fun! Probably more poker, and more Cromwell table games.

Also want to do more spa stuff. I always say I'm going to do this but I never do. If I manage to get some weight off, that will be my reward.

Better, smaller meals out, quality not quantity, with the exception of a few favorite buffets. Basically hoping to act like a grown up. Famous last words! :p

Since its been a few years anyways and we plan to do the Grand Canyon again, this time staying a few days versus a few hours visit. We are also going to see some of California also. As far as Vegas going to a Cirque show (never seen one in Vegas ) going to go "hotel hopping" to sich places as the Cosmopolitan, Bellagio and Caesars...

If I make it to Vegas this year, I think it will finally be the time I commit to trying to stay downtown. I am not sure how I will like it overall. As a low roller type that usually stays at Harrahs/Flamingo/Mirage, I think the gambling would be better for me downtown, and my comps would be better.

My last cpl tips, I had a car, which I enjoyed, so now the parking fees on the strip are a major turnoff to me. I usually go to Vegas around events (UFC, Concerts, exct) so, I will just have to get used to the Deuce express for effecient trips to the strip a few times.

As long as I have the vehicle to get me out and about to do things such as go back to Red Rocks to hike, or other things, I hopefully won't feel "trapped" downtown, which is a fear I have. On the strip, there is always wondering opportunities(window shop at the malls, ppl watch, low cost attractions in the hotels) to eat up time and check things out, if the gambling ain't going well. I don't know what downtown offers in that regard.

I'm still going for a week twice a year but I'm going to start trying out different hotels on the strip instead of staying in just one. I stayed at the GN for years but I'm back to staying on the strip. Since I've relocated to the strip I've stayed at TI & Cosmo. I have a summer trip set for Mirage and then probably V/P for xmas. Things got kind of stale for me staying all those trips at GN so I decided to mix it up and make another round of the strip properties.

I spent 2017 trying to shift away from upper tier offers...more towards mid-tier property offers, since I figured I might play/spend less.

    Nope.

Maybe it's the self-imposed pressure of feeling like a small fish in a big pond, but I tend to be more careful with my bankroll in the nicer places.

Conversely, at mid-tier stays, I tend to fritter money on dumb games/choices when I stay at a place where I know my bankroll is more on target. Ironically, I found I still play/spend the same amount, I just get less for my money.

So, 2018 I'm just going to stick to the places I love. Since I spend the same amount anyways... I might as well be at my favorite places in that case....until they give me the boot!

Also, will be trading 10-12 day trips twice a year for 6-8 day trips 3 times a year....the first is brutal on the wallet, and brutal waiting for the next trip.

I'm so tempted to start doing this as well, shortening my two eight day trips into three 5-6 day trips. At some point I'll take the plunge but I just hate getting there and not having a full week.

Yes. For starters, I'm not sure I'm even going this year. IF I do go, I'm looking at a few options; A getting a rental car and doing a tour of parts of Arizona, Nevada and maybe Utah and California for 2 weeks. Or B, do my usual week long trip but spend 1 or 2 nights in Laughlin. Also B I'm looking into timeshare rentals and off strip places that have a more reasonable resort fee that includes parking. As much as I love Uber/Lyft, I can't hardly drink anymore, I can't put away food like I used to and I miss driving around the valley. I'm not sure I can handle the noise and whatnot still (car accident-concussion). But, I'd still like a vacation with the things I enjoy; desert air and sun, pool, spa, good food, good service, a little gambling, having a stress free visit with my brother. We'll see.

Plan on renting a Harley, and touring around Mesquite, Laughlin, or to the California border.

Three of us planning this. If anyone has done it, preferences appreciated. Do we have to pack our own gear, since they are helmet law states?

Doing one trip with a group of people, right now it is 8. I am sure I will regret it. I am trying to set up 2 dinner places and say this is where and when put suggestions out there for breakfast/lunch and then step out of the way and let the Chips fall where they may.

Trying to convince my wife to add a trip in April I want to try Cosmo one time maybe a terrace suite will convince her.

2018 will be the first time I spend an entire trip downtown. We used to only stay on the strip but have found that we enjoy downtown more. We will be staying 7 nights at the Downtown Grand starting next week.

Used to be able to go Vegas whatever week we felt like it since my wife and I have the same days off Wed/Thurs. We usually leave Tuesday after work.. But now she starts a new job where she gets weekends off and I work every weekend so we'll only be going to Vegas once a year if that ....
