Yeah, my local is pretty tough on this as well. Really the only thing they don't tolerate is the F-word (and presumably the c-word, although, I don't think I've EVER heard it at a table). You usually get a warning or 2...then you're gone. It's also a LITTLE more tolerated if you say it sotto or or cut off the end of the word. Stuff like "Well, that was shitty" tends to be ok. I swear like a sailor generally, but try to keep it under control only because I play at a BJ table for camaraderie, so it's just better to be "civil". But I'm not bothered by swearing. (The only thing I don't ever do nor do I tolerate is swearing AT the dealer). That's just ugly.

Yes, come to Vegas. You can find tables that pay 3:2 if you're betting $100 a hand.
Or just continue to play at the slots and cuss at them as much as you want. Machines don't get offended. You should hear some of the language my slot frenemies spit at the Kitty Glitter machine.

If it stings, the stakes are too high. Lower your budget next time.

Gambling is about losing money and having fun. If you aren't having fun, there is no point.

I would argue that if a big loss doesn't sting, then what's the point? Different strokes...

(Obviously, don't gamble with money you can't easily afford to lose.)

A sting and a "sick feeling" sound very different.

If you really get a sick feeling that doesn't go away,

    you probably aren't a gambler.

The point is to have a good time playing the game. I get different strokes of course, but to me personally I just don't understand the appeal of leaving a casino with any feeling other than having had a good time.

This one went off the rails a bit....the few who know me on the board probably know that I'm not "the angry" guy when loosing...quite the opposite actually, I'm Always out to have a good time....that being said, the f bombs that I dropped are basically part of my dialect...and most definitely not directed at anyone...most likely telling a story, or just being a character in general....

The 5k loss in a slot stung ($25 spin) but nothing that I can't handle, that's usually my bankroll for 3 or so days when gambling so it sucked to loos it at my local in a matter of a few hours...that's all...

Now for the happy ending...went down yesterday (to chase of course) and ended up getting the 5k back and an extra 1500 for my troubles...talked to the pit boss who asked me to please watch my language, and he said that it was at the request of a dealer (on another table)...then he kinda whispered that she was a bit of a stiff and prolly won't be dealing in high limit on the weekends for a while.

Anyway, moral of the story...I gotta get my ass to vegas, just woke up this morning to another 10-12" of snow.....by far the most snow I've seen in halifax in 15 years!

Usually when the f-bombs dropped I am at the point where I really don't notice other people around me which is part of the problem.
The only way I know it is offending people is because my wife tells me "That old couple sitting to your left are giving you dirty looks." or "Those people sitting next to you got pissed and left."

If you dropped 5k and were next to be I would sympathetically drop a few f-bombs on your behalf.
