Recently read that the shuttle drops off behind Harrah's is this true? That would be so much better than Bally's.

Hmmmm.....I know the Rio bus drops off & picks up behind Harrah's. But I guess either will get you to the same general area

Unless they have changed things in the last couple months, the Gold Coast shuttle stops on the north side of Ballys next to the food court entrance.

The Sam's Town shuttle (also a Boyd property) drops off at the back of Harrahs.

The Gold Coast shuttle goes to Bally's on Flamingo Blvd (where the Rio shuttle also picks you up). What i do is use the Rio shuttle at Harrah's, then walk across the street to Gold Coast from Rio.
I use the Rio shuttle either from Bally's or Harrah's depending on where i'm at.

The only Boyd shuttle that's ever dropped of at Harrah's was the one for Sam's Town.

yes, but there is a sign when you board that says hotel guests have priority (unless something has changed). I usually keep an old Boyd room key and flash it when I board (if I am staying somewhere else).

The only time I saw them "check" was during a big convention or big event (like a fight or something at the Orleans). There were a lot of people waiting at the drop off area (like over 60 people one time). The driver stood at the door and yelled out that he would first take hotel guests for the Orleans and GC (have room key out) and then others if there was still room. Not sure if he really checked guests for their key card though. Many had to wait for the next shuttle.

The route is Orleans to Bally's to GC. As recently as last week, we rode this shuttle. It drops off at the outside entrance of the sportsbook at Bally's. The shuttle has to make this 3 point turn to go back to GC and then to Orleans. I hope this helps.

I plan on hotel hopping, so would I be able to take my luggage on that shuttle?

Ms. Gecko and I have taken luggage onto the shuttle many times without any objections! Unless it's near empty, you have to pretty much hold it in your lap, but it's a short ride. Perhaps you're thinking of Harrah's shuttle, which definitely doesn't permit luggage.
