Questions about being a non-smoker and newbie to Vegas

I am a non-smoker and where I live in SC all restaurants, bars, public buildings, etc. are smoke-free. I have asthma and want to attempt to limit my exposure to smoke as much as possible. I am not a gambler, so I am planning to avoid casinos. I plan to spend my time seeing shows and sightseeing. Do restaurants there have non-smoking sections? What about in the hotels and food courts? Thanks for your input.

 

Vegas doesn't allow smoking wherever food is served or in "common areas" like walkways, shopping, etc.

Yeah, if you are avoiding casinos then you shouldn't have a problem... and even then most of the casinos on The Strip have high ceilings and/or good air filtration so even if you do venture in to the casino you should be fine.

And in Vegas most smokers are actually pretty good about it where if you just ask politely (IE: don't act like you have an attitude or be a jerk about it) most will not smoke around you or will move away - unless they were there first and smoking when you arrived. If they were somewhere first and smoking (or had their cigarettes out in front of them) and you came and sat next to them and then you ask them to put it out or not to smoke then most will just ignore you with the expectation that you are the one that should move.

 

I'm a non-smoker with asthma as well. I stay away form the smaller casinos and I don't have any issues. Many casinos have non-smoking slot areas as well.
