I don't mind spectators, I just don't like people who invade your personal space. Or make commentary towards you, when you are actively betting.
also bothers me when they don't play and smoke next to you, just to watch.

pet peeves from craps about spectators
    1. hands over the rail pointing to sh*t when they have nothing in the game
    2. i like shooting from the left of the stick, but people crowd you on an empty table when ur shooting
    3. commenting on the prop bets, like ooh u just missed a field bet. i told you to bet the hardways

blackjack annoying comments when they don't have money in the game
    1. you should bet more/less
    2. you should have hit/stayed
    3. any digs / moaning / commentary after a losing hand.

My friend and I go to Vegas together a lot, and we have a whole system in place for this. If we're gambling together, great, but if one of us busts out, the other is only allowed to stay if the table is hot. As soon as the streak ends, that person has to leave, and they're not allowed to come back during another streak. I remember playing craps at Mandalay Bay once, was up well over a grand, and I saw my friend walking over; I subtly waved him off and he immediately did an about-face and ran off.

    Usually, the system works!

Exactly, I agree that you don't want people to make comments. But for the people that complain about people watching in a public area...get over yourself. If you don't want people to watch then play at a private table.

I often attract a crowd when winning and yelling and the whole table is into it.

I don't even notice people standing around watching until I look behind me at some point and it's 2-3 deep.

but as long as they are quiet, I really couldn't care less.

but I absolutely can't stand anybody who talks about every hand.

I had a friend with me one trip and he was moaning about every loss and making a big deal about every big bet and I told him to beat it.

Wait, you started a post about how you don't like people watching yet you let a "chick" pull your lever?? Are you still talking about gambling or talking figuratively???:evillaugh

Or you make exceptions if the person is female and has the potential to ...."pull your lever".:wink2:

NObody touches my machine.............levers are Not involved. lol

I am also a QUIET Winner. Unless the machine sings the jackpot song, you will Not know I've won.

I HATE spectators, and do everything I can to deter them. Including, getting out my cellphone, and
playing with it until said stalker walks away...........drink slowly from my drink, and turn around and
    stare back at them, etc.

Seems to be 2 conversations going on. Tables and Machines. Its alittle different with each.

I think I was at Foxwoods or Mohegan and was walking around and saw a guy betting pretty big (table was reserved for him, on main floor) so I stopped to watch. I was probably a few feet from the table, essentially on the outer edge of the walking path which went by the table. He then motioned to the pit boss to get rid of me and the pit boss told me I couldn't watch. I was a bit pissed off, but I left. If the dude didn't want anyone watching, he should have gotten a table in the HL area and not in the middle of the casino.

This was in the afternoon or evening I think, def not late night.

It just rubbed me the wrong way. I wasn't anywhere near him/table, didn't say anything, and was stopped for probably less than 30 seconds.

The only thing I worry about with spectators is them hurting my count or drawing heat on my play.
    I might have to wait 2 or 3 shuffles before getting a +4 or +5 on two-deck.
If it happens and the 'spectator' conveniently chooses that moment to sit down and jump in, it gives me fewer hands in the positive-count situation, and if he was actually counting himself and then sat down to jump in, it will bring the pit over...and the pit/dealer may or may not have noticed the high-count. So, I typically drop my bet down a bit if this happens.

When "no mid-deck entry" was everywhere, this woulds still be problematic because so often the spectator would still try to jump in, calling attention to the table, and therefore, my play.

Other than that though, I have zero problem with people who watch the game and are hanging back a bit.
But if you sit down at the table, I expect you to buy in and play at the next shuffle - not just sit there, enjoy free cocktails on my tips, and offer up obvious advice on my hand.

Some of you guys would lose your shit if you went to Macau. Not only will a bunch of people stand behind you and watch but they can place bets on your hand as well. The first time I went there I was on business with a couple of colleagues and we sat down at a blackjack table at Sands. It was low limit in the middle of the workday but we attracted a big crowd probably because we stuck out as foreigners. I was winning and suddenly a bunch of people started putting chips behind my bet. I couldn't understand what they were saying but they were clearly upset with me sometimes because of decisions I made. It was too much pressure for me to have all these people depending on my luck.

This feels a bit like the craps table. You set the point, everyone puts out a ton of cash then you 7 out the next roll.

This is why my girlfriend will not shoot dice with me. It took major cajoling for her to try it once and that was it (she did ok too). But she doesn't like being the "deciding factor" in people losing money. I've tried to explain that everyone PSO's and it's part of the game...

That drives me crazy too.....I travelled with a friend who I will never go to Zvegas with again. She rarely gambled but loved to stand over my shoulder making comments. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
