I can't seem to find much info online so I thought I'd see what I could get here.

How does one go about getting a show on the Vegas Strip? I've read all I can read on the subject and know the difference between 2 and 4 wall theaters. Are there any performers or someone who can direct me to the right forum for this info?

    Thanks in advance,

    Dan

I take it you are a performer? What about your agent or manager? Isn't that his/her gig or are you a free agent?

Neither, I work for an established theater company. I have been tasked with finding info on this, which has been more challenging than expected. I haven't found the clear cut do this and that...I have many irons in the fire and figured I'd try this as well to see if it got hot.

    Thanks!

Most of the biggest Vegas stars (Siegried & Roy for example) started by handing out porn cards on the streets. Then they were discovered and the rest is history. So that's where you might want to start. Or you could start by being another "kick me in the nuts" guy. I heard his career is about to take off.

David Saxe is a producer of many shows in Las Vegas. His company is involved in the Saxe Theater, V-Theater, showroom at the Quad and Beacher's Madhouse @ the MGM Grand. You might start off by reviewing his production company's website and then contact him if you think it would be helpful.

    2 Wall vs. 4 Wall

In a two wall deal, the casino helps with the marketing. In a 4 wall deal, you rent the theaters and have to do all the promotion yourself.

You need to go through the super-long list of all shows running, make a master list of every venue, and contact each venue to see what is open and how much they want to rent.

Then, you have to figure out how you are going to sell tickets in a very crowded market, which means spending $10k a week on advertising and giving really high commissions to ticket brokers so they will push your show over someone else.

(Vegas Visitors: Do you really think that those 1/2 price ticket people have your best interest in heart when they suggest a show? Hell, no. They have their own pockets in mind).

You will have to attempt to work out deals with various prominent Vegas websites for advertising and promotion. If you have foolish money to spend, you will buy billboards, but good luck about being heard above the clutter once people hit town.

    Good luck.
