I know it was more cold than usual where I live this year, and I know in September it was rainy almost my entire 10-day trip in vegas. For people who have gone this year, do you think it's been unusually cold?

Just the opposite I think. I was there in February and the cab driver commented on how unseasonably hot it was for that time of year.
He worried that if the trend continued it would discourage people from visiting during the summer and would cause a drop in tip revenue.

    March

Was there March madness this year and the weather was warm. But I would call it prefect weather for March.

We had lunch with two Vegas residents and they both agreed it has been one of the warmest Springs they can remember.

They were rubbing our noses in our cold/snowy winter.

It was a very warm winter. Temps generally well above average.

That's usually how it works- above average winter temps in the west = colder in the east.

Summer is upon us already. Predicted is mid 90's today and we'll probably break 100 in some areas tomorrow.

We didn't really have a winter this year.

Statistically we're due for a snow also (I know, that's gambler's fallacy). We usually get enough snow to stick for a few hours about once every 5 years.

Just got here a few hours ago and they say it's 10 degrees warmer than normal. Seems pretty hot here, then again it was snowing where I came from yesterday.

Give it 5 or 6 weeks. The weatherman will be cooking breakfast sausage over roof-flashing on top of the TV station to illustrate how hot it is. It's a Las Vegas thing...

I just go to weatherunderground and look by the daily avgs/forecast on their extended forecast...sometimes they are above sometimes below... it's been hot this week...this coming week is up and down of course I will be there...avg is low 80s and last time I looked there were a lot of 70s in the forecast :( after we leave of course forecast is hotter again. I thought it had been a colder than normal winter from the temps vs avgs I was reading up there in Jan.

it was hot when we were there. We just got back. I packed a heavier sweater (cold in canada), a light jacket and a very light over the arms kind of sweater and did not use any of them. I tried with the very light one in the evening once and i got hot fast. 24-30 C the whole time there, it was wonderful. Came home to huge winds, freezing cold and rain.

Ummm...no...the entire west coast has seen "the winter that wasn't"

I think it rained twice in LA in winter 2013-14. 80 degrees was not unusual in Jan/Feb. It has been sunny and warm in LA and LV pretty much non stop, much warmer than normal for the past 6 months and almost no rain. At this point, LV will be warm/hot until October.
