For breakfast, I am usually interested in french toast and bacon. :nworthy:

For lunch and dinner, some crab legs, ribs and soft-serve ice-cream are my typical indulgences.

    1. What do you typically eat at a buffet? Any highlights?

    2. What do you take advantage of at a buffet? In other words, what food provides the greatest value for your buffet dollar?

I eat at them frequently but dont really stock up that much. I aim for what I want. Usually roasted or fried chicken and some other protein. Then 1 carb that I have really been dying for like potatoes. I will go back for seconds of the meats, maybe more but i never pile the plate high. i dont mind if it only has 1 thing on it.

I usually only do 1 buffet and that's for breakfast. I like to try a bit of everything which is why a buffet works for me, but I will have bacon an omelet maybe Eggs Benedict and some fruit and yogurt.

Whatever I like and whatever looks delicious.

I'm not much of a seafood person and although I do like crab, crab legs are terrifying to look at so I have a hard enough time walking by a pile of them. And I love sushi but I'm very particular and I know it will take just one bad experience to turn me off it forever so I won't have it at a buffet.

I am more of a breakfast buffet person. I have eaten lunch & dinner buffets in Vegas before. For the most I do breakfast.
Its pretty simple. Bacon, eggs to order (not the powdered stuff on the buffet line) or maybe an omlet. Good old greasy fried potatoes if they have them & fruit of some kind. I also have to have coffee & OJ. I wish Las Vegas buffets would break down & offer tomato juice. For some reason tomato juice is close to impossible to find anywhere for breakfast....Guess they save it for bloody marys.

I love shrimp if it's prepeeled. From there about any type of meat or seafood along with mashed potatoes/gravy. Dessert only if there's room.

I am a shrimp fan and enjoying lots of it (and maybe other proteins) makes the buffet a better value. I also get my share of salad, vegetables and fruit. If I indulge in another option, it's likely to be Mexican! I generally do not eat pasta, potato or desserts, but will make an exception for eclairs.

Breakfast: Bacon, Hash Browns, Eggs, Fruit.

Lunch: Hardly ever eat lunch at a Buffet. Usually something small somewhere. Most times I skip lunch.

Dinner: Attack the seafood if it's a seafood buffet. If not, a meat dish like prime rib or steak, chicken, fish, vegetables and fruit, then pie for dessert. (or cheesecake if it's available.)

The first time, I will try chicken, mashed potatoes and mac and cheese as well as whatever they are calling prime rib from the carving station. I can usually tell a lot about the overall quality of the buffet. I also hit the Asian station and I will usually go for peel and eat shrimp or a bit of crab legs if things aren't crazy.

    Breakfast: same as the above

Lunch/Dinner: Meat and potatoes, fish(if it looks good) and a salad.

I generally don't eat many desserts at home. When I'm at a buffet, I always get ice cream or a slice of chessecake topped with lots of strawberry sauce.

I like shrimp, and if they look good, that's what I"ll start with, until I get tired of peeling them. I don't eat meat, so I'll look for interesting vegetable dishes, Asian stir-fry noodles, or other things that are vegetarian friendly. I will definitely check out the desserts and see if anything catches my eye.

About the only buffet we hit anymore is Studio B at M Resort. There I will make repeated passes for fried shrimp. The first pass will be two plates, one for salad-type stuff and one for a sampling of other dishes. Then a pass for shrimp (adding horseradish from the prime rib station to the cocktail sauce) and stuff from the Asian station. Then a bowl of soup and more shrimp. Then maybe another wedge salad and a pizza slice. Last stop is the dessert bar.

The wife just noted that the best buffet we've hit recently was at Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio. Great selections at rock-bottom prices.

Fried Chicken and Shrimp, salad if the bar is kept clean, Asian, and I try to eat my vegatables.

I won't touch, or even look at the buffet pizza.

Breakfast: Bacon with a side of bacon. The more rubbery the better. Mushroom and bacon omelette with double cheese. Sausage links, maybe a quiche. Coffee and OJ.

Dinner: Whatever looks good. I'll usually find a few things at each station that I like but I don't bother with crab legs. Too much of a pain in the arse to deal with. If they have a fire grill behind the line I'll have them put a piece of bloody prime rib on it for a few minutes each side. Cheesecake and cannolies.

The only buffet we do is Paris and usually get 2 crepes. Try two different ones each time. Then visit the omelet station for a fresh omelet created with what ever stuff I want. Afterward get some fruit. Definitely fills me up.

For the lunch/dinner buffet start with salads.
Visit each station to see what catches my eye.
Of course grab a few crab legs.
If they have some wings I will grab a few.
May try one slice of pizza but its usually pretty bad.
Include a piece of meat here and there.
When finished visit the dessert area finally.

Everything!:wink2: But just for luck I always have 1 piece of fried chicken and 1 slice of pizza at each buffet. Strange superstition, I know. LOL
