I'm in a bit of a quandry right now...
I'm trying to decide where I want to throw all of my gambling dollars (my host at JANugget quit)
    I've got a few options...
1.) Get solid diamond card at CET (via 2500 tier points in a day; One Play day per quarter)

2.) Get solid RFB @ downtown Boyd Properties (via $25k coin in spread out over 3 days; going to Vegas once per quarter)

3.) Get Platinum Status at Atlantis (Reno) via $12k coin-in once a month.

Bankroll considerations really aren't; also at any property my play will be on 9/6 JoB (99.54% and I play 99.9% correct)

I know with option 1, I'll have access to some decent things (Diamond Lounge, Free Shows in Vegas, Perhaps free flights, Free rooms at ANY CET Property) BUT this will mean I have to be STRICT in my gambling (ONLY play a specific amount then quit, PERIOD)

Option 2 I can gamble all I want when I GO to Vegas, but I won't be getting "High Roller" stuff (suites, shows, diamond lounge)

Option 3: I don't know, but I know Atlantis is a very nice place, and it will allow me to gamble once a month, and probably have a decent bounceback package...

    What would you do?

For optimum results with CET you have to be strict. I don't think the extra benefits are worth the hassle. Play when you want. If you don't want your play tracked don't use your card. The biggest benefit to CET is you will get rooms whenever you want.

The following is the strategy I use. I am strictly table games.

I only use my host(mirage) on higher playing trips. I also only play mlife properties when playing at higher average bets.

I use CET for my smaller budget trips. I also use CET if I've hit my trip loss limit and want to play smaller.

So far with this strategy I have maintained my offers and relationship with my host and mlife. CET I still get my room offers.

I don't know about those other two casinos but you have this wrong about CET. Yes a Diamond card will get you into the lounge and a couple of free shows a month (which are mostly cheaper shows that are constantly offered for free or deeply discounted to anyone anyway).

It will not get you free rooms at any CET property or free flights (seriously?). After you do the 2500 TCs in a day a couple times you'll probably see some bump in offers/room comps but its far from getting the keys to the castle. There is still a good chance you won't show room comps at the better properties on a lot of days.

And then are you going to keep the play up? Because if not, any room comps can dry up.

Seriously, I'm not against chasing tier but it only makes sense if its at casinos you're going to play at anyway. Otherwise you're potentially risking thousands for occasional access to chicken wings.

Why not get a new host at JANugget? From your other posts you seem to really like it there....

    Correct.

We don't want to rain on your parade, but 9/6 job at CET in LV is at the $5 level only, and requires $62500 coin in per day to reach 2500 tier credits. The theo generated by this play is minimal and will generate underwhelming offers and room comp availability.

CET in Reno/Tahoe may be different, you would know better than I.

like someone else said, Caesars is the only CET property with 9/6 JOB. $5 machines.

Chasing comps is a waste of time and $$$ IMO.

    good luck

I agree it's not a good idea losing just for comps (my high ADT days occur when I go strong, otherwise I quit and underplay).

I do receive free flights from CET for PIAD play noted by the OP, but not to Vegas (trips to Atlantic City or Laughlin). MILFe would send me free flights/trips to Tunica. I play three-five play dollar VP - 9/6 in Tahoe and 9/5 in Vegas (PHo HL room). They expanded my offers to many $150K tournaments, their top headliners (Elton John, Shania Twain) and other nice offers beyond the free comp room offerings found on the total rewards calendar.

I would bail my Laughlin trips in the 1990s and head to Las Vegas, but they cut me off after the second time w/ no play (can't play BJ in Laughlin with their Reno rules (D on 10/11 only).

Although we gamble at CET, MGM and Stations in Vegas, our main reason for sticking with CET (to some degree) is that we like to travel to other places where CET has casinos like Reno, Tahoe, NOLA, etc. We can always get free rooms at those places.

    Downtown, strip or Reno.

That is the REAL question. Where do you want to play?

I agree with this. I've realized that Vegas is wasted money for me. When we go, all we do is gamble. We don't eat at the fancy Strip restaurants, instead opting for small off-strip gems. We get comped so well in Reno and can enjoy all the decent eats at our home base that it's a win-win.

If we went to Vegas for more of the non-gambling activities, it would be a tougher choice. We spent our last trip to Vegas entirely Downtown and all we did was gamble.

tl;dr it depends on what you enjoy doing.

This is EXACTLY what I would do...
BUT I think a host at MSS just made my choice clear.
Plus like others said...I'm a downtown guy...I can use MyVegas to stay on The Strip...

I like downtown as well, but my trips are long enough (7-14 days) where I typically spend a portion on the Strip (or just off strip - say Palms, LHV or Orleans) and a portion Downtown. I also at times head south (South Point / Silverton) or west (Red Rock, I want to try Suncoast and JW Marriott).

Concentrating play for a day or two each at Boyd, CET, Stations, others allows me to stay the entire 1-2 weeks comped. If I have a bad start, I usually limit losses and try to have one or two good ADT per trip to keep the comps coming. If not, I just rotate elsewhere.
