I love it when local druggie/village idiots try to rob banks. Nearby me in the last week one guy went up to a teller and demanded money. She told him to produce id and take off his hood. He did told her he had no id and ran out. This was in his hometown so when his picture hit the paper, everybody knew it was.
The other dope completed the robbery ,ran out with the money but left his car keys behind in the bank. On foot easy to catch.

You should sit on a Grand Jury for 6 months. I heard some of the rankest stupidity you could imagine.

Reminds me of a story about a small town that happened to have a 7 ft tall resident, he fell on hard times and decided to rob a bank, supposedly he put on a mask and walked in with his note, whereupon the teller said "hi joe" as he walked up.

Very entertaining. These guys I mentioned were in their 40's,not kids .
Every day I pick up the paper I see all kinds of crazy stuff, society is going to hell.
Maybe head to AC after lunch, the only way I'll ever get my money back from them is pull an Oceans 11.

I had someone rob me at knifepoint at work. He was a regular customer and had a pronounced limp. So even though he was disguised i knew who he was. I was about to say what are you doing ***** but thought better of it. gave him the money, hit the panic alarm and gave the cops his name.

When they caught him 3 days later they found out he had an addiction problem so when convicted he went to a dry out center before jail. He got a year, was in 6 months i think. They put a restraining order and i never had to testify.

I guess he is cleaned up now, and got married, but i will never forgive him, even though i wish i could.

I would have never been able to 100% id him if it was not for that limp.

sweetcanadian, your story reminded me of mine.

Many years ago, my son (at that time he was like 5 years old) and I were walking home. I had just picked him up at daycare. This guy came out of the alley - in broad daylight - with a gun and demanded my purse. I pulled my son close to me and hesitated at first. Then I just handed the purse over and he ran off. I stood there for a moment thinking is this for real?

Reason I hesitated? I was just at a bbq with a girlfriend of mine and this guy was there. He has been friends with her family since they were young. He and I talked at the bbq briefly.

Once I got home, I called my girlfriend and she got my purse back. Everything was still in it, but the cash, which wasn't much. She told me he's been a crackhead for years.

    Geez. :rolleyes2:

WOW, i would have been more than a little pissed off at my friend for putting people in danger. Crackheads are the worst kind of people to have around thinking they can be productive. I realize it is not her fault, but knowing him all his life is no reason to have him around with that lifestyle. I s'pose you didn't report it?

I always get a chuckle out of the morons who rob banks and use a bicycle as their get away vehicle.

A few years ago there was an idiot who used a taxi cab to rob a Red Robbin here in town. He was apprehended in less than ten minutes.

One of our bank robbers stole a forklift truck, then drove it to the local Chase bank and lifted the entire drive-thru ATM out of the ground. Cops saw him (it was near the break of dawn on a busy street), and the robber drove away and crashed into another car, then was arrested.

Took at least 3 months to get the ATM replaced. I think the robber got a 4-5 years prison and was ordered to pay damages.

Similar bank-robbery story a couple years ago, I think in San Francisco... robber was robbing his own bank and wrote his "this is a stick-up" note on the back of his own deposit slip!!! He was caught at his apartment counting the money... his address was correct on the slip.
