...And my next feat will be to....get married:eek: and honeymoon in Vegas! (Insert roaring audience)

    1. So I have a one bedroom tower suite booked for 5 days. What's the next likely upgrade from here?

    2. This is my third trip to Vegas (first honeymoon) and my first stay at MGM. Is there anything I must see,do or not do while at the MGM. The stuff only you Veteran Vegas Stip hounds know.

    3. Best place for a nice dinner, that won't break the bank. Less than $100 per entree.

    4. Location of the swankiest restroom in the joint?

Thanks in advance for the help Family.

    4. Swankiest restroom? Probably inside the high limit room. :poke:

I do not like the one bedroom tower suite. The bedroom and bathroom are nice, but I find the living room configuration very awkward. There is a nice sectional couch, but no coffee table and the TV is not really set up to be viewed from the couches. Just a lot of open, wasted space in the main room.

The next room up is the City View suite. No door between bedroom and living room, but overall, a much, much nicer configuration.

    1. Don’t expect an upgrade for a 5-night reservation, even if it’s your honeymoon. Book a room/suite that you’re happy with, this way you're not disappointed when you don't get an upgrade.
    3. Craftsteak or L’atelier de Joel Robuchon if you want to stay within MGM Grand
    4. Your room’s bathroom, it’s also the most cleanest

Yea, just book what you want! :)

I've never had trouble with Vegas bathrooms. Even the crappiest of hotels have huge clean bathrooms everywhere.

Do you mean Grand King? Nice! upgraded, they are a little bit small. But it was renovated top to bottom.

Loved the Grand King - fully renovated, very comfortable. Stayed a week back in August - very enjoyable!

Lotsobear and Heather, thanks, I did book what I wanted that was within budget, but it's helps to know what you aspire to on one of the first gambles of the trip, the hotel check-in.

JD, that city view suites looks real sweet. I'll be sure to swing for the fences on that one. Thank you.

I don't have an issue with normal bathrooms, I could go in a bucket, but I like to see how decorative or elaborate a room with 1-12 crappers can be. We'll maybe I do have an issues...LOL.

It is a nightclub but you can go in during the day to see the view if you don't want to go to the nightclub.

A friend of mine had been telling me for years to go see it and we never made it. Then last trip we found ourselves killing time after snacks and drinks at Strip Steak (Duck Fat Fries and caipirinhas) so we headed up to check it out. Definitely worth it.

Did you say you're getting married?

To quote the great Adam Carolla "The only reason for a man to get married in this day and age is if he's being deported.".

Jokes aside, congratulations. Married twenty four years myself and eligible for parole in another ten.

Quite a late update, sorry. I ended up booking a 1 bedroom suite (different than spa suite). There were no upgrades available, but the clerk did check. Sent a bottle of cheap Bubbly on the house. Room wad on the first floor in a hallway connected to the casino, between the food court and the KA theater. Was an ADA accessible room with roll in shower. View sucked but had 2 huge (length of the wall) gorgeous windows. Overall all pleased.

    2) You'll definitely like the pool, and their lounges / bars are really good. Whiskey Down & Tap are good
    3) Take the monorail up to the Ballys/Paris station, and go to Gordon Ramsey Steakhouse (Wellington for 2 for $98). It's an awesome dining experience

hopefully you made it into one of the Mansion restrooms since you were after swanky restrooms.

but the ones inside are another level above the ones in the HL room.
