Just returned from a trip, stayed Aria. Was wondering if anyone has had trouble getting drinks while playing? I actually felt ignored. I played slots for almost 6 hours straight on Sunday and only received 2 drinks while playing. I actually went to the bar and ordered in the middle of play because I was tired of waiting. I tip $2 a drink, is that too low for Aria, were they avoiding me? I had all food and drink comped on the back end so I really don't care about having to order, just seemed very inconvenient to sit and play and have to look around hoping to see a waitress. I stayed at MGM last time and it was at least every 10 minutes someone would pass by asking about drinks.

There are spots in Aria where the drink service is great, as in you'll see a waitress every 10-15 minutes, but then there are spots where you'll almost never see a waitress. I just think its the size of the place as the spots where you do get great service is usually pretty close to where the waitresses go to get their drinks and they just seem to service those immediate areas.

We stayed there last spring and over the course of three days I only managed to get served twice while playing slots in their casino and instead just went to their gift shop to buy cans of beer when I really wanted a drink.

I had the same experiences as you. I normally tip $2 for a drink or $1 for water and sometimes I feel they ignore me for tipping so little.

the worst for drink service was Mandalay Bay IMHO i was playing over by the lotus room and asked a lady about a drink she said she would send her over. well i then heard them arguing about who took care of the area and never did get a drink! i think drink service really sucked all the way around this trip!

I can tell you that service IN the Lotus Room is amazing, every time we go (swing shift), our normal CW recognizes us and asks if we want the usual. She will bring us waters and a new round when she sees we are getting low, whether we ask for them or not.

The wife and I spent one afternoon at Aria just checking it out last month and she decided she wanted to play some penny slots. For over an hour I never saw a CW and on the way out I saw the new Spiderman slot and set down to give it a try and a CW came by within 30 seconds. Go figure. Ended up having a couple nice cocktails and cashed out up on Spiderman.

I play table games and have always found the service way better than average.

I think you just got unlucky. My wife and I played some slots at the Aria last month and got multiple drinks within the short time we played.

Granted - we do not usually spend too much time in Aria but there have been times we would be in the same area for 2-3 hours & be lucky if we get 1 drink. Not what we are used to.... I even walked around once to find a CW and gave her $1 for a bottle of water and she where we were playing "was not her area"....ok - it must not have been assigned to anyone...lol

I think it is the old slots vs tables issue--service on tables at Aria on the floor and high limit is always excellent IMO

+1 on this. I've always had excellent service playing $25 baccarat. Even got some Fiji water lol.

I noted a few "blackspots" myself on last visit particularly at the top end near the monorail area, however noted excelent service at the progressive VP near the tables

When I was there second week of Sept. CW kept stopping every 10-15 min. check my drink and would bring me a new one if I was close to empty.
This happened several nights at the dice tables between 9pm and 1am.
I actually had to slow her down a couple times.
I normally tip one red chip per drink .

+2 I noticed that people playing table games get better service at Aria.

Cosmo still wins for the best drink service.. but their slots suck. :Þ

Drink service at the Aria was hard to come by during the week we were there in July.

I've found the red chip on drinks work wonders. But then again, that means my girlfriend and I tip the CWs $50/night...each. We probably do about the same if not more for the dealers, and my girlfriend gets even more generous when she starts drinking. Now that I think about it, that's kind of disproportionately high for green chip players.

Thanks for all the feedback. I suppose I'll just order 2 rounds while at the bar and just have it taken care of on the back end if I have trouble again.

As stated earlier, the HL room always has great drink service. The slots are a hit or miss, depending on the time and day. Last time I was at Aria, I got great service at the slots. I noticed if you are nice to the CW and tip well, they will be back quick. I usually tip $10 for a shot and a beer together or $5 for just a beer or water.

Last time I was at Aria, my friends and I sat at the slot machines and could not play because we were so hammered. The one CW made over $600 total from 3 people. She just kept bringing us drinks without us even ordering. After that was a blur.

Now I think about it, the drink service at the tables or slots have been great once I can get hold of a CW. In some areas, they do not come, not sure why. I've had CW bring me drinks without ordering and tell me they are getting off. Of course, they want their tip before they leave, but I'm happy with it.

I was Aria in August and drink service was hit or miss. I only tip a buck a drink but I got pretty regular service under that, unless I moved at which point I'd find myself without a drink for quite a while.
