I'm not sure of the rest of you but I'm always interested to know what type action generates a specific marketing offer. I record my action, game I played win/loss so this is very easy for me to do. If you don't keep track, no problem, if you can just give us an idea of what you played, quarter slots for 5 hours or 2 days or all in one day etc. we can guess-mate what the action was run through the machines. Some of you play table games same drill. My hope is nobody judges what a person plays or how long or little they play it. All my play is on Video Poker. My action is always listed as one day play, not trip. In most cases I only play one day per offer. Silverton $20- $32k I have a special realionship with this place. I've been a player for years there and they have taken very good care of me and my family. Owner is part owner of Staples and we have been invited many times to Lakers games and watched it from the owners suite. Same with Kings and Clippers. We are from Orange County California for those of that don't know its LA's neighbor so getting there is not an issue. They also provide VIP parking, which is just a few steps away from VIP parking. Food and drinks is also provided. Same drill for The San Diego Padres except they put us up at the Hard Rock Hotel, put food credit on our room, pay $35 per day parking and feed us very well at game in the owners suite. There's more but I'll end it here except to say I had one grip with them. They used to send $350 FP offers. That ended a couple years ago, I gripped and ever since added $100-$225 more than my marketing offer states. My offers are 3 nights, $250 FP per month. I get a suite and $200 food credit per day. Last time I checked in and went to play I had $475 FP. They are always throwing in more due to my gripping a couple years ago. Sometimes it's only $100 more. For the fpvp players, you're asking what the heck I play? I play nickel 8/5 BP 100 plays. Not the best game in town but it's been working for me. I've been dealt straight flushes and aces. When things go south and it always does, I cut back to 25-50 play until it swings back the other way or I go play single line 8/5 BP. M $18,508 2 nights, 2 buffets, $100 FP. Comp concert tickets. Tourney offers. Host puts me up in a suite and gives the connector to my kids who are also both lower level players. Sunset Station $10k 3 Nights $25 dining credit, $40 FP. Host frequently email soliciting your business. Aliante $11,972 2 nights (but I can't find my offer right now!) $30 dining credit & $60 FP. Red Rock $15K 3 nights, 2 buffets, lots of slot tourneys or concert tickets some times $40-$90 FP. GVR $14K Same as Red Rock. Host calls/email all the time. Wynn $32K and this was many years ago, maybe 5-7. For years I did not receive ANY offers, last two years, I get one every quarter. 2 nights, $150 FP. I've never been back. Tropicana $19k $100 FP or many tourney & free 3-4 night offers. $50 Dining credit. I have only played here once. Host put me up in a suite and gave me $200 per day food credit but he knew me from another casino. Orleans We'll see, I just played $7,343 Next?
CET properties my rooms are comped up to a suite. Can't get those. I go twice ayear. Take 5-6k to play with but most of the time I'll come home with half that for 6-8 days total. 70% of my play is slots and 20% vp. I haven't used my points to pay for food in the last few trips so this next time I go for 6 nights I won't have to pay for any food at CET properties. I should have 1k to use.
shokhead, do you get gift card offers along with that or tourneys? I have often said CET has the most aggressive/impressive slot club around and nobody has refined their online website as well as CET. Unfortunately for me CET does not offer the games I play or I'd be there too. Thanks for your post.
Tourneys all the time from all the CET prop along with free stays for the tourneys. I don't look at everything they offer.
Good thread idea! This post is based on current offers in my in/mail box. I haven't bet MILFe in over a year, so I won't be able to help with that group. CET - Most weeknights, some weekends at all Vegas properties. Platinum earned over several non Vegas nights in 2012 across the county. Don't play much in Vegas at CET properties beyond live poker (Limit or Tournament) and some green chip blackjack (decent rules except H17) but my comps are likely based on decent VP play across the country. Unfortunately, they do not offer decent VP in Vegas. Boyd - Typically 3-4 nights comped. Play about $20K-$25K mostly VP during my stay. Played some blackjack as well, though I try not to downtown with their lack of DAS. Stations - Comp offers (RR & GVR) still come but for limited nights based on $80 rated BJ last summer over about 12 hours on a two night stay (and marginal FP VP/ race book play). Also had a tournament offer at Palace Station, where I may have played once for 1/2 hour in my life (likely based on RR play). Four Queens - Typically play about 4-6 hours/night $0.25 JOB with some DB. Typically tournaments are available and I've been offered free play between $40 and $200. Did play BJ last trip on the one playable table they seem to offer (all others are 6/5). Cosmo - Typically two night offers, the latest being for two $25K free tournaments which I booked. Was rated above my typical play at BJ when it first opened (was winning and tipping well which may have influenced the offer). I limit play to BJ (and a little craps) due to the fact they have no playable VP under $5. In the past two years, I've also earned comps at TI, LVH and MILFe properties.
Thanks for your post Viva, it's very helpful. Yep, that's my problem with CET, nothing to play in Vegas and I'm from southern Ca. Reference Boyd and lack of DAS? What does DAS stand for? The nice thing about downtown Boyd, you can make them your home casino and you will have a year to reach your tier vs 6 months with non downtown Boyd properties. At least that's my understanding. Boyd has that cb thing where the higher your tier, the higher % cb you get. My Stations offer are always on the weak side so I just play down and don't worry about them! Ironically, they are the ones who call/email me the most. lol That's a good offer for the amount of action at the 4-Queens. I love those 10/7 DB machines but limit my play on them to about 1/2 hour. So easy to do your action in on the 9/6 jacks! Would you believe I have not made it over to the Cosmo yet, one of these days! DAS = Double After Split, say you split 7,s and hit a 4 on the 1st hand, you can double down on the 11.
I racked up nearly all of my CET points last year in the Road to Rewards plaing 9/6 JOB at Atlantic City Bally's ($1 3 Line) & AC Harrah's ($0.25 or $1), Harrah's Tahoe (9/6 JOB $1 3/5 Play) & Harrah's Reno (10 play $0.25 or $1/$2). The best Rincon has for you is the Aces Bonus game discussed in the M Resort thread (not a bad game, but it does have a higher variance and lower EV than JOB). I stopped playing in Chicago (beyond Road to Rewards type promotions) in the late 1990s. I generally do not give my phone number (limit offers to Email or US Mail). Emails from Stations never say what the offer is for beyond the email subject line. I have to log into my account to access the offer. The general Stations login page does not work (I have to log into a webpage saved as a favorite - their site is almost as bad as MILFe). Hosts have introduced themselves or sent letters after stays requesting I use them in the future, but I always book offers via email/online offers received direct with the Players Club. Hosts will on average extract higher gambling (dollars/time) out of their players, whether players admit to it or not. Four Queens has plenty of available rooms and it's easy for single line quarter players to get rooms and some free play. Four Queens pays cash back for points at a good clip (0.31% for 9/6 JOB, 0.21% for 10/7 DB). I do not play blackjack as often, but you can find decent comps near/on strip playing $25 LVH or $50 TI tables. MGM and Bellagio also offer good blackjack rules for green chip play, but their comps have dried up at this level (they were pretty generous in 2008-2010). Hope this helps.
I keep pretty good records, but since we bought a DVD player for the plane, I rarely bring the laptop. I used to have daily coin-in but now mostly trip records. I went back and averaged my last 5 trips and did $46,000 on VP at downtown Boyd. Each stay was 4 night nights and we rarely gamble the day of departure. Not that it matters but that is probably 80% at MSS at 20 % at Cal. Anyway, I get a suite comped at MSS, a Gold Card for all meals at any downtown Boyd restaurant and usually $75-100 in slot play. Now some of this is maybe because I have been staying with them for over a dozen years and I'm still barely holding on to Emerald status. We almost always stop in at Four Queens for pizza and give them maybe 2 hours of play at dollar VP. Almost every month I get a mailer from them for 3-4 nights free and ~$30-40 in slot play. I don't keep track of my play there. But, my wife plays quarters and I play dollars, both on the same card. For an upcoming October trip I am triple booked. MSS, Four Queens and GG. I haven't given the GG any play in a couple of years, so most likely just a teaser offer, but 2 nights free and $30 in play. I hoping I can convince one of my brothers to use one of them. If not, I'll just collect my free play.
Thank you for your post Joe. I record my record keeping a tiny memo pad so I don't have to remember anything plus, it's a great referance if I'm looking something up going back a few years. So your averaging approx $15,333 daily action. Those Gold Cards are very nice and well worth that type of action if your playing at that level anyways. The GC has long been one of my favorits for drop-in play, I always just did well there. I just learned you don't have to stay at the 4Queens to take advantage of their offers. I like that, not having to book a room. Hopefully your brothers can use those rooms! Good luck with your Oct trip, that's a great time of year to visit.
