Looking to stay 2 nights in January at the GN. Never stayed there but been to the casino & restaurants many times. Debating between gold tower & rush tower rooms. Would like to stay away from the carson tower.
What are the main differences(other than price) between those 2 towers?
    Advantages/disadvantages??

GN veterans, which would you choose?

    Thank You

Rush Tower is much nicer and plusher than Gold Tower. Also larger. well worth the extra.

Rush tower rooms are awesome, and even if your not a High Roller they make you feel like one. I am thinking about staying there when i go back in OCT.

Rush Tower most assuredly. Great showers, great beds, (not crazy about the pillows my only knock) beautifully decorated, flat screens, just really good value for the money. I have heard the Carson Tower is the next re-do at the GN. Looking forward to that.

Vegas, just making sure you are not comparing Gold Tower rooms to Rush and not Gold Club rooms. Gold Club rooms are similar to Rush but have some added benefits.

Rush has its own check in desk also I think, so there shouldn't be as long of lines.

Exactly... and Gold Club rooms check-in at VIP, so hardly any wait there.

Yes, I am talking about the gold tower rooms. The gold club rooms are even more expensive than the rush tower.

What are the added benefits to the gold club rooms??

This is definitely an advantage in my book as I hate long checkin lines.

One more question: are the rooms quiet in the rush tower?
We do not want to hear the fremont show from our room. Needs to be quiet.

I stayed in a rush room on our last trip. It was my only stay downtown so far. I LOVED IT! The room was great, I personally love the dark rich feeling decor and the wrap wround leather couch. Our room was on the back side of the property so there was no noise issue ar all.

Rush has their own valet in addition to its own check-in. I'm afraid if I have to stay in another tower it would be a let down. It is a bit of a walk but no big deal.

    gold club rooms

Gold club room floors are key access controlled. They are quiet. VIP check in and line pass for restaurants and shows. They have newspapers, bottled water, candy and fruit by the elevators. You also have access to the VIP lounge. Small perks but nice. We stayed on these floors our last few stays. The rooms are large and have a lot of little extras like a cd player etc. We think it's worth it. Hope you like the GN.

I booked a gold rush tower room. I'll have to let you know how it is. What's weird is that's what was told to me but like oyster doesn't show my room type. So I'm confused as well.

We have stayed in the Rush tower a few times, the last time in a corner room facing the FSE and it was very loud until the bands finished. I think it finally got quiet around 3:30. Both other stays were facing away from the FSE and other than some pool music during a day event, they were very quiet. We try to stay on east coast time when in Vegas so the noise really threw us off. we did move to a corner room on the other side but We could still hear the bass carry around the building. Not as loud but still bothersome for a light sleeper.

I would love to hear your experience on this. In case you haven't done it before or weren't following the Landry's Select club thread a while back, here is my best understanding of things in that regard (I've used it once myself at GN)

    1. Officially you can only gain the Landry's Select card benefits if you book directly through GN and are not using any casino or special rate offers (i.e., you have to pay full rate or whatever Landry's Select special is being offered if there is one).

    2. The upgrade is based on availability and as I recall is an upgrade to a Gold Tower (NOT a gold club room) when booking a Carson tower. Getting a Rush for booking a Gold I don't believe is an official option.

This has been my understanding as well as the experience of others. I would love to hear of someone can confirm otherwise.

    Thanks!

    I have used it before.

I booked via a phone call, as you are correct, to be eligible one must book directly with the GN.

I hope this is not the case, as I booked a Gold Tower room, hoping to be upgraded to the Gold Club or Rush Tower. Will report back with the results. I have yet to be upgraded using the Landry's Select Card.

I too await any confirmation from those who have gone before.
