Last trip our host hooked us up with the Vista room at PH which was actually pretty nice. We met and talked to the host during that trip who stated he will try to get us an even larger room if possible for next trip.

Just received my reservation and it reads "HW HIP NS KING" which I interrupt as "Hollywood Hip Non-smoking King". Based on the web site, this appears to be their base room.

Is the Hip room their base room?

Do the $20 trick and ask for a resort room with a view, it worked for me last time and I gave the guy a $10

That's correct. That's their basic room. If you get the Hip rooms with fountain view, it's not bad. Try the $20 trick and it should get you the Hip room with view or the resort room which is about 100 sq ft bigger.

I would speak to your host. If they were trying to do better than last time, it is probably not in my view. I suppose fountain view might help, but that is up to you of course.
