Hi guys, I am still looking around at the moment for a base for this years trip. Have some questions about Hard Rock please. I did like the party vibe and friendly Heart Bar at PH last time. Is the Hard Rock as good for that? I liked the comp drinks at the bar each night, saved a small fortune and met some great people. I am ok with the location, as the rooms look better than PH. So was thinking about getting a suite there and using the gym and facilities. All feedback will be appreciated My other options are currently for around the same money - Aria King Room, Mirage, PH, Paris, MGM and Vdara - which is cheapest
If the other options are for around the same Aria would be a no brainer to me. Its one of the top resorts and casino located center strip. Vdara is very nice as well and would be a great option since the rooms are very nice, the only downside is the pool area and no casino but plenty of other casinos next door.
I love Hard Rock. It's a great place to party, especially if you are with friends and you are in the younger crowd (20s-30s). The hotel is awesome, and very well maintained. The rooms in my opinion are nicer than PH. The only drawback to the hard rock is it is not close to the strip and there isn't much to do except drink, gamble, go to the club, and have fun at the pool. (and remember with a very loud, drunk, and young crowd) So if that is not in your agenda, I would tell you to go on the strip. What exactly are you looking to do? Are you going alone?
No surprise how I'll weigh in... I've stayed at just about every property in town and the few I haven't slept in, I've visited. I became a regular at the Hard Rock in '09. Love the HRH (all suite) Tower and recommend it highly. Check-in is steps away from valet (the friendliest in town) and the elevators are steps away from check-in. The room product is very nice. I often feel like I'm the first person to step foot in the room, they're so clean. The Paradise Tower also opened-up in 2010 and while quite a walk from casino-floor is also very nice, though some claim they're too dark for their tastes. The Casino (main) Tower is the oldest (mid-90's) and while refurbished has been partied-in hard. The bathrooms are on the smaller side, but they all have a really nice set of french-doors that open for freash air and view. I dispute the notion that the Hard Rock is over-run with 20 yo, tattooed, Jersey Shore *****s and their women. Yes, you will see them there... a lot of them on ReHab Sundays, but... though the property skews younger, you'll also see plenty and I mean plenty of 30-50+ yo's eating, drinking, gambling, enjoying the property. What you rarely see is a line-up of blue-hairs and oxygen tanks playing the slots... I'm frankly OK with that. Ownership is constantly spending $$$ remodeling, refurbishing and improving the property. This keeps the place fresh, clean and up to date. Their fitness-center is as nice as any in town and included in the "dreaded" resort -fee, which will add $20 to your daily cost. It also includes, in-room wi-fi, which blazes! The Hard Rock pool complex in outstanding, both in physical shape and eye-candy. There are 2 straight-up party pools and 2 others that are far more relaxing in nature. Yes, you can hear music around the property, yes... a lot of it... yes, you can hear it in your room. Unless, you get a mountain-view room and then yes, you'll notice the airport after 6 .am. Across the street (Paradise) is a great italian food spot, Ferraro's and a Johnny Rocket's, great sushi place (though HRH has a NOBU), CVS, and a Capriotti's Sandwich shop (very popular in LV). There's also a decent, upscale gentleman's club (Club Paradise)... OK.. strip-club. KISS in-door mini-golf and a Subway can be found across the other street (Harmon). The casino is rarely as busy as the ones on the strip, though when it does liven-up it's usually later. I play VP at either the Center Bar or the Luxe Bar in the HRH Tower and my drink is NEVER EVER empty! Lastly, the reviews on Yelp or Trip Advisor show the HRH a 3+ star property... but a closer look shows that many, like me, give the joint 4-5 stars and other 0-1... often for the same reason... I love the staff, they're great, but you'll see plenty of reviews that say they're rude and aloof? I don't know what you do about that... I guess you either love the place or you hate it. Wherever you stay, I hope you have a SUPER visit!!!
if its weekend it will be fine if its a weekday its been realy dead there. the rooms are realy nice but they over expanded so its too big and not enough people to fill it so it seems so vacant,. not my first choice to spend my money ,if you dont plan on clubing and pooling there i would pick a strip hotel. psss yes if find the front desk staff the rudest of all hotels in vegas ,the dealers and wait staff are fine but good luck getting a late checkout from the front desk without giving your first born child .
Thanks for the advise guys, I am a little concerned midweek might be a bit quiet at HR. But it does sound like my kind of place, and the suites look great for the price of a standard room on strip. I guess the other option is to stay at PH,Vdara or Aria and catch a cab over on weekends. I will be playing alot of poker at Venetian, Caesars and Rio. So the location of Aria and Vdara is not really idea either. Although Vdara at $600 a week inc tax exc RF seems like a very deal. But it's not an ideal spot.
Aria also got a great poker room. Staying at Vdara will be a 5-7min walk to either Aria or Bellagio poker room. The walk to Caesars will be another 10-15 minutes so not to bad. If pool is not that important to u i think i would go with Vdara. If you havent been to Vdara before its like staying in Bellagio spa tower in terms of location. U just have a short 1 min walk and you are in the back of the Bellagio complex.
Thanks guys, great advice, i guess im leaning Vdara at the moment. Although I am a smoker, staying somewhere non smoking will help me cut down. Vdara and Aria , are they an easy walk to PH ? I seem to remember last time, it was a bit of a maze and was not that simple to get to Aria. And how much will a taxi cost to HR from there please
It will be an easy walk from Aria, just walk thru qrystals and then cross the bridge. It will take less then 10 minutes.
Under $10 BTW: I'm not a Vadara fan... I've not slept there, but have picked-up a work associate on three occasions and been up to the rooms each time. The rooms are very, very nice, as is the entire property. I just don't much care for the "vibe" a non-smoking, non-gaming, "non-fun" property exudes.
Thanks guys , i am still undecided I am still edging to the HRH Suite, just a bit concerned how "dead" it might be during the weekdays. Always good to have some nice ladies to chat up in bars without having to run around too much after a hard day at tables. Or it's Aria or Vdara. I guess PH and NYNY are closeby them. Or Ceasars is also the same price for a Roman tower room. And MGM Sig suite with balcony just came up for the same price.
Though I love the Caesar's property, great location... I agree about the Roman Tower. I "had" to stay there last year for a night...
I stayed at Hard Rock in February and am considering making the place my every trip place. I absolutely fell in love with it. I stayed in a corner king room in the Paradise Tower and it was the nicest room I have personally stayed in while in Vegas. I would wager you could fit 6 adults in the shower, unfortunately I never tried it. All the dealers, cocktail waitresses, front desk check in people were all fantastic. My only gripe was the poker tables were shut down 4 of the 5 nights I was there.
I see you will be playing a lot of poker at other spots, Rio being off the strip I would stay at Aria and play there instead. Did that MDW 2011 from the Thursday before to the Wed after MDW and had a blast. Tony Parker and Tim Duncan were playing with the common folks at a 5/10 no limit hold'em table on the floor. Great action there. I never stayed at HR, friends have and rave about it is all I can say. Off strip is not my choice personally.
I listened to you guys and booked Vdara ! The deal was too good Can easily get a taxi to party at Hard Rock
