Favorite Chinatown restaurants?

I am a big fan of Asian cuisine and will be renting a car on my next trip and will definitely be visiting Chinatown. I'm into spicy stir fries, noodles, Pad Thai, Vietnamese Pho, Ramen, meats like Roast/BBQ Pork, Duck etc.

Any recommendations for Chinatown restaurants?

Chinese?, Vietnamese?, Japanese?, Korean?

Any suggestions would be helpful, thanks. I did check out Yelp but it is confusing and reviews are mixed.

Lotus of Siam is some killer Thai.

 

My favorite Vietnamese restaurant is not on Spring Mountain, but you can get there with a car... Viet Bistro. Pho Kim Long is a good Vietnamese restaurant on Spring Mountain, and it's open late. Ichiza is good, and also open late. It's a Japanese izakaya (pub). Raku is similar, more upscale, more approachable and more expensive. Monta is a fantastic little ramen house. For Thai your best bets are off Spring Mountain - Lotus of Siam and Le Thai. For a tasty adventure, check out Komex Fusion Express. It's not on Spring Mountain either, but it's worth a trip. They make delicious Mexican-Korean fusion. The bulgogi nachos ae amazing!

Some Szechuan can be overkill!

 

Try Jones Eastern European Market next to 168 supermarket. Some interesting stuff, including a kielbassa meant to be sliced and looked like Canadian Bacon. They sold this to me as a pierogi--a little different from what I was expecting.

Also, Roku is next to Monta Ramen. (No pictures) Tight and a little expensive. But the pig ear yakitori with hot suace was great. If you go here try to make it a point to use the Asian toilet! I spilt a beer on a UFC fighter here once. It might have been the guy who fought against Gilbert Melendez last week.

 

Good choices have already been mentioned. I also think Archi's Thai has the best pad thai around. It's a bit further out, but I'm also a big fan of Surang's Thai. And if you dig spicy, I highly recommend Pan Asian. For pho, I like Da Lat. Big Wong has such tasty cheap eats, it's a great lunch spot.

 

They all sound so good. I am there only a few days and may make two trips at most.

Actually, guys, I'm hooked on Pho Kim Long. I trained in vegas and was going there 3 or 4 times per week. The food is great, and let's just say the scenery and atmosphere are even better.

Cafe Da Lat is cool, too. I went there with a Groupon. There fried rice has HUGE chunks of meat on it.

In these Vietnamese places, I started eating eggrolls, wrapped in lettuce, with mint and sweet and sour sauce.

Swhwain, have you tried Lee's Sandwiches? I have a Vietnamese friend who swears by it but I have not yet given it a try.

 

Thanks for all these suggestions. I've had Monta Ramen bookmarked as a place to hit for a long time but never have a car. The one time I did I completely forgot.

Any of you know a place that makes a good bak kut teh? I've been fiending for it since moving back from Asia. It was my favorite late night grub.
