I once drank a LOT of silver patron shots on our last night there. NEVER would I do it again. I was so sick standing in line at the airport the next day I was eyeing the distance between me and the closest trash can. My thought was what would the chance of getting tackled if I suddenly broke out of the security line in full run while shoving people out of the way. Thankfully it did not come to that.

Previously that night I thought it would be a good idea to walk off my drunk and while strolling along the ramps at the venetian at 3 in the morning I slipped and took my much more sober husband down with me.

That last time I was that sick it was after downing a ton of Hurricanes in New Orleans. Thankfully that was not our last day so I spent the day in complete misery. I don't do hangovers well.

I'm in the "first night blowout" camp as well. I even budget for it. I've waited six months to gamble, I want to get it on. I don't do big drunks anymore because I hate the hangovers. The last day/night I like to just relax more, so I'm ready to go when I get home. I also like to take money home. Done the "its my last $20" to get to the airport a time or two, not making that mistake again. I've been going for a long time, though, and every trip is different. That's the beauty of Vegas, you can have any kind of trip you want.

I never drink enough to get drunk... too much money at stake and I don't want to lose the edge.

My buddies on the last trip however; they had never had a blow-out and decided to give it a go. Started at Rum Runners watching a Packers game. Once back downtown, they went off on their own, but it included Heart Attack Grill and a vodka milkshake (on top of a dozen beers... you see where this is going) and ended by giving the Glitter Gulch stage a milk bath.

Kind of too bad I missed that part.

    In the first night camp...

Our blowout night is always the first night. Balls to the wall from the second I hit the Minneapolis airport until I stumble into my Vegas bed. Usually ends up being an 18 hour bender, then sleep for a bit and need to be coaxed out of bed with a Bloody Mary. I freaking love Vegas!

Yes... but I never, I mean NEVER do it on the last night... dealing with the returning the rental car, riding the shuttle bus, standing in line at sky cap, going thru security and then waiting for the plane (an hour seems like 3) all with a MAJOR hangover is the WORST, especially when it's over 100 out. UGHHHHHHHH... I hate it... I'm waaaaaay too old for that.

I've done the first night blowout, I've done the last night blowout. It always ends with $0 leftover, and I love every second of it. Hangovers and ATM fees are a huge PITA, but I wouldn't trade those memories for anything.

Nope. Things are usually pretty even keeled and if anything, the last night is more of a wind down night than a blow out because I'm a little too focused on preparing to fly out the next day.

The first night is the BIG night.
Being in Vegas, fresh bankroll how can it not be the BIG night.
Don't usually drink the night before leaving as we tend to catch the early flight home.

Unfortunately, blowout nights can affect others directly. I boarded my flight to leave Las Vegas on the last day of my visit and as the plane was taxi-ing out from the gate, the dude in front of me hurls all over himself and the seat in front of him. Obviously from a "blowout" the night before. The plane had to go back to the gate and we all had to exit the plane as they tended to this jackass and for the staff to clean the plane. I can tell you, being the guy who sat in the seat right behind, I saw it all and that stench was imprinted into my nostrils for hours afterwards. People from that flight were pissed and we eventually got going after 2 hours delay. Sigh. I guess it wouldn't be Vegas if we didn't bring storied like this back home. lol

I've done a big night the first night and paid for it the rest of the trip. I'll never do that again. and by the end I've had my fill and have no desire to do a big night. relaxing trips are the best.

    40th birthday trip.

Our last day/night, we woke up kinda late, went out to Red Rock, had a 32oz. Crown & Coke on the drive out. Had some Panda Express late lunch. Made it back out to the Strip around six o'clock.

Met my brother at Casino Royale, and hit the craps table. After dozens of C&Cs later, I was jonesing for a Subway. So I cashed out and went up to get my sandwich. They actually had a sign that said "No $50s or $100s". In a casino! I asked the guy if that sign was serious, he said no, don't worry about it. As I started to order, the other guy says "yeah, no hundreds". Dammit!

So, back to the cage to get some twenties. Back over to Subway and start ordering. The guy says, "sorry, we closed at midnight". WHAT! It's 12:03! I was just here, you sonofabitch!

My brother was staying at the Flamingo so we walked with him and hit the cafe. They ordered what were apparently the best nachos in the world. I ordered nothing. My head was swimming and so was my stomach. So I decided it was time for me to walk back to our room at the Palazzo.

I was That Guy walking up the Strip. I was keeping my eyes on the sidewalk lines to make sure I was staying straight. I was That Guy that the elevator security attendant was ready to call housekeeping for cleanup.

I hit the bed for about fifteen minutes until I hustled to the toilet and hit my knees. Nothing but old Panda. When they came back to the room, I was sure I could hide my lack of dignity. But fifteen minutes later, I hustled back in. Nothing but nothing. They still tell me how hard they were laughing at me.

The next day I was sipping Gatorade until it was time for our flight at 3.

    An awesome birthday.

No more big blowouts, but I do tend to stay buzzed a lot of the time.

Yes I used to in the beginning. I hit the slots/tables hard the first night...but no longer.

I would rather take it easy. I even avoid the slots/tables on the first night if it's a long trip.
