OK in the RJ this morning it listed the places that will be having fireworks on NYE, they are: MGM Aria Planet Hollywood Ceasars Venetian Treasure Island Stratosphere According to the article, the Fremont canopy will be choreographed to the same music as the strip properties. Have fun. I hope this helps with your NYE planning.
If you go to the Pub NYE party you stand back by the Monte Carlo pool at midnight.....you are right under the fireworks they shoot off from Aria.
Thanks for the tip but I'm not a drinker. I've never even been to a club in Vegas. It's just not my thing. I'm bringing a small HD Camcorder with me to record the Fireworks! Hopefully I will get some memorable footage!
Last year we had a balcony room at Cosmo, facing North to the Bellagio fountains. We could see fireworks in all directions -- TI, Venetian, P.Ho, Caesars . . . It was absolutely incredible.
I just returned from Vegas and.... I stayed at the Paris Hotel and this past Tuesday they had a fire drill with lots of loud sounds and instructions on what to do in case of a fire. They are getting ready for the fireworks on NYE. I also heard in the t.v. news that all of the CET Hotels were also planning to have fireworks on NYE. I am guessing that nomatter what hotel you stay at you will get to see fireworks. All of you have lots of fun and stay safe. Lucy
LV Blvd gets closed off for any vehicle traffic after 6pm or so and towards midnight it gets filled with revellers. Even if someone doesn't have a primo view from their room or a ticket to one of the parties, there is plenty of fireworks to see. The first time we did NYE in Vegas we were partying at Rhumbar at Mirage. They have an outdoor patio area where we all watched the fireworks from across the street. It was really great there too. Like I said, anywhere from the strip you should be able to have spectacular views.
We went one year and went up to the top of TI's parking garage. Great spot to see all properties from south to north setting off fireworks simultaneously.
We got a room at Flamingo for NYE. I heard all you have to do is walk out from the hotel into the strip and be able to see alot. We have never been to Vegas NYE.
You are sort of right. The main strip is closed down early in the evening. Everybody goes out into the street to party. Access to hotels is very limited. It is a total zoo. Wall to wall people, mostly drunk. But, it is cool, to do at least once.
Always curious how many times people actually look at those videos after taking them. And in many cases, missing the action in the process.
I won't miss the action believe me! And with today's smaller HD Camcorders and Wide Screen TV sets - How can you not want to relive those memories?
