I don't know if this post belongs here or in the comps area....
Anyways, here is my question. I stayed at Golden Nugget in mid November and signed up for the players club card while I was there. In your experiences how long do you think its gonna take to get any kind of discounted or comp stay offers. I definately wanna stay downtown again for a couple nights on my next trip out to Vegas. If it makes a differnce the hotel was not booked in my name.

Also, I know GN is one of the higher end hotel downtown so do you think my play is even gonna warrant a free stay in the future:
I played roughly 3-5 hours a day-- 25cent VP (max bet), penny slots (max bet), $1 reel slots (max bet 3 or 5 coin), and a very small amount of BJ (~$25 a hand)

Just my experience - I stopped by one day and gave them 4 hours of $50/hand Pai Gow play and have received exactly Jack and Poo from them. I get their blast emails, but those go to everyone, it's not a special offer or anything.

I'm curious to hear if they give offers to others and for what sort of play...

For slots its all about coin through. Time plays only a little part.

In the Golden Nugget you get 1 point for every 6 dollar you bet on slots (not sure for VP). I would think that if you exceed 500 points a day you stand a chance for some food comps. I would recommend having the room booked under your name, directly online and not through a third party. Charge all your food to the room and at the end go to the host office (door is where the keno is).

At 50 Dollar a hand for four hours like Ducky you stand a good chance to get free room and food.

As for mailers it took them more than 9 month since I moved to the US to finally send me stuff, before than I never got anything. But my host has always taken care of me. For the last few trips I have been RFB.

It was Pai Gow, so it rates lower than BJ/Craps, but still... That was a few months ago and I haven't heard a thing from them other than the mass-market emails that everyone gets with casino-rate calendars.

I wonder if it's because I wandered into the hosts office and asked them to buy me lunch for my play. I wasn't staying on-site so I couldn't just bill it to the room.

I'm not really butt-hurt over it. I already get more rooms downtown than my rear end can park itself in any one night. The whole experience just caught me as weird.

If your not staying at the hotel I would just ask the pit boss for, especially if you just put two or three hours in. He might call the hosts.

Problem is that it will take a while until your play shows in the system as it gets manually entered after you leave the table.

Even if its 'just Pai Gow' 50$ a hand is pretty decent in the Nugget, which I think does not differentiate.

I played slots back in 4/2012 at Golden Nugget and finally started getting flyers. I went the week of 12/8-15/2012 and with their flyer got the room for $45. And if you check Travelocity and Expedia usually you can get it for that. So no real discount.

Also you could buy a Landrys Select card and book directly with the hotel. I don't know what the discounts are but you would get one along with a VIP check in witht the card.

Yes you pay the $25 for the Landry's card but it is preloaded with $25 to spend in one of their restaurants so you could use it at Vic & Anthony's or ChartHouse right in GN.

All the floor could do is "$10 at Carson Cafe." They directed me back to the Hosts office as they thought the play was worth more than that.

In case anyone was interested.... Golden Nugget sent me a letter today offering 2 nights comped in a deluxe room.

took 3 months but hey I'm glad my play has some value there.

My play is a little less than yours, only got the $10 off with free buffet mailer sent after my second time to their casino. As the post above this shows, some people are getting mail offers this week. Mine might get better, for I did spend a lot on slots last October there.

I don't know if my offers were a fluke or what, but have been getting great offers. I am constantly getting mailers for comp slot/blackjack tournaments with $1,000 buy in prices. Also getting 5 free nights with $600 cash/$750 free play choice. Limo pickup at the airport and $500 in meals. All I play is slot machines mostly penny slots at $3.00-$5.00, with the occasional $5 reel slots. I hit for $3,000 there so that could be some reason they want me to come back with such enticing offers.
