Inexpensive Shows?

I haven't seen a specific answer to this question but haven't look at all pages of this wonderful bulletin board......

Any tips on finding really cheap shows in town? I prefer very cheesy lounge singers, rat-pack knockoffs, Elvis, Tom Jones, that kind of thing....... comics, magicians and the like. Trying to spend $20 max per show per person but the cheaper the better! Needs to be on the strip or downtown as we won't have a car. Any guidance?

 

My favorite cheap show is Popovich Comedy Pet Theatre. Not sure where it is playing now, or how much, but I have seen it 3 times and am still amazed that he can herd cats. Google it and I am sure you can find tickets for under $20.

Also, sign up for Goldstarevents. They have a ton of shows under $20, and even some limited ones for just the service fee.

 

If you go to the Total Rewards desk at Harrah's, they'll give you tickets to Mac King for the cost of one drink ($14). That is a spectacular value. Mac King puts on a great comedy magic show. You pay in advance at the box office and they give you your ticket and a coupon for the drink.

 

My favorite show in Vegas is "Hot Chicks Falling Down Drunk" and you can get front row seats for FREE. Ask for a patio table at Grand Lux Cafe around 2-3am on the weekends, and ordered a few drinks for the greatest show in town.

The show has a pretty simple leading premise. Hot chicks get all glammed out in ridiculously tight and small dresses and dangerous high heels and then get competely wasted at the TAO nightclub. The show begins as they start leaving the club and take the escalator down to the main casino at Venetian. The escalator just happens to drop them right in front of the cafe. There's stunt work, fights, costume changes, and amazing dialogue. It is truly a treat for all and I never miss seeing it when in town..

There's also some great free acts on Fremont St. and in many of the casino lounges. They change up from style (rock, r&b, etc.) but in general they are all really good. Some of my favorites are the La Scena lounge in Venetian and the Carnavale Court outside Harrah's/IP.

we got 2 comedy club tickets each at riviera in september.

shows change on sunday so we went twice.

Mike Hammer Comedy Magician Downtown at the Four Queens was very good for the price, less than $20 including a drink right from the 4Qs box office

 

Another vote for Mike Hammer if downtown, or Jeff Civillico at The Quad (Imperial Palace). Both are high energy, funny as hell, and lots of fun for the money. Jeff is at 2pm except Fridays, Mike is 7pm except Sunday and Monday.

 

Beatleshow! Is a very good show at the theatres in the Miracle Mile shops (PHo) that you can usually score cheap day of show tix for at the discount day of show ticket brokers. They run through he history of the Beatles from the Ed Sullivan Show throuugn thier solo careers with costume and instrument changes... Very well done.

Get a shuttle or a cab to the Rio for the free "Masquerade in the Sky" show on Thu, Fri or Sat night.

Catch Carl Ferris and his sax for free every night starting at 7pm on Fremont Street near the Four Queens.

Also, if you're in Vegas over a Saturday night and enjoy 80's music, then the Spazmatics at South Point is hard to beat (will require a cab ride from the Strip).

 

Go to Travelzoo's website and look under Las Vegas entertainment. I found $10.00 tickets to Nathan Burton and also Jeff Civillico. Lots of good deals. Have to call a month ahead to get these tickets.

 

Loved that show! If you have seats close to the front, you have a decent chance to be called up on stage to help with his act, especially if you have a loud brother-in-law with no shame who gets his attention By the time the show was over, our entire group of 5 had been up there helping out at some point - so much fun!

 

Is that show for all ages? I'm trying to find shows/things to do with my wife and 2 kids (5 & 9). We are going the last week of Feb.

Any suggestions.

 

Rio's show is not really for kids......

Unless you like Victoria's Secret brought to life for the little munchkins.... it's pretty risque. You'd do better with the Circus Circus shows, and the TI pirate ship (although that gets pretty grindy too), and the dolphin habitat and the like. There's a lot on the strip that they'd like, but Rio is pretty adult. Probably not worth going out of your way for.

And isn't the Rio show viewed from the casino, anyway? Kids can't go there......(It's been years since I've seen it or been to Rio, so I forget)

 

Kids can watch it from the second story where all the shops are at.......I actually don't think its bad for them at all.....sure, the ladies show a lot of skin, but not as much as kids will see on billboards around town. If you're going to bring kids to Vegas, you have to accept the fact things are going to be a bit more risque than Disneyland.

 

Since when are Jeff Civilico and Nathan Burton not free anymore
