Most outrageous / valueable / Craziest / comp u have ever received

my "craziest" comp was 100$ in cash for new food from VONS, since my fridge at the formerly PH Westgate Towers stopped working...

Not really a comp since we had to earn them...turkeys!

Santa Fe Station - Nov of 2008, for every x # of points you put on your card, you got a frozen turkey. Literally, not a certificate to redeem at a store, a turkey!

One day we walked out with four of them and they were all in the 12-14# range. The food pantry got two of them and we ate the other 2.

It was perfect timing because we had out of state company staying at our house for Thanksgiving that year.

 

On my first trip to Vegas I was bouncing all over just checking every casino out and went to the Wynn. I didn't play long but ended up winning my first hand pay it was around $1500on a slot.
I didn't even give them that much play but a couple months later I got a letter in the mail offering me 3 free nights and $300 free play to come back which was pretty cool to me!

LOL, I didn't get very many offers from them since.

 

Harrah's in San Diego has some random promotions. Recently, if you showed up and played at all, you got a frying pan.

 

Horseshoe Cleveland had that same promo, they have a 6 foot Christmas tree giveaway coming up the Sunday and Monday after thanksgiving, just show up and walk away with a tree.

 

Yup same here at the Horseshoe in Indiana. A Charlie Brown X-Mas tree and a turkey or ham just before that. They did it last year at the Four Winds as well. I saw all kinds of people walking around, playing slots or table games clutching a big fat ham!

Weirdest promos for me is at the Four Winds. Just in the past few months I picked up a gazpacho gun, a little stick mixer for making soup. A Microwave oven, a fire safe, a Dora the Explorer back pack (talk about random) and a ton of other shit you'd never expect a casino to give out. I guess they get tired of luggage sets and cameras.

 

Also at Santa Fe Station they had giveaway Sundays and you didn't have to play, just swipe your card.
The list is incomplete, but these are some I remember:
Compact light bulbs-box of 6
Set of steak knifes-6
Shamwow type dryers-box of 6
Tupperware-type sets-about 10 containers that stacked inside each other.
Car windshield sun shades
Portable car vacuum.
We each had 2 cards, so two of everything. There were so many more that were just crap, but these we actually still use, that's why I remember them.

 

A few years back I went into Wynn to sign up for their players card and do the roulette trick to get two buffets. I knew I was going to lose $19 on the scheme but it was worth it to try the buffet and it must of appeared on their computers that I was a big player for 15 minutes betting on video roulette.

Two years or so later I received a letter offering 3 nights in a Parlor Suite, $1000 in free play and $200 a day in F&B. I was nervous about booking it for fear I would have to pay if I didn't gamble enough, but I went ahead and did it. They even offered a limo pickup but I kindly declined since I always rent a car. We had no problems getting everything promised on the trip although we didn't use up all the F&B for fear of getting stuck on the bill. I got back $1200 on the free play playing JOB video poker and parlayed that into a $3200 profitable trip, which is outlandish for my level of play. My bankroll for a normal trip never exceeds $1000 total. I know I'll never get another offer like it but it was a great trip. The only negative is my wife's expectations for Vegas are forever set too high.

in 2001 at the Rivera my husband won an elephant clock after he signed up for a card and did some slot thing to see what you win. I don't remember what I won but it was also crap. I only remember the stupid lamp cause he still has it sitting on the bar in our basement and will not get rid of the ugly thing.

 

After playing the the El Cortez several years ago I received a sheet with various "offers" on it in the mail. One was for a free night but one was for a free ice cream bar and the other was for one of those tiny bottles of booze like you get on a plane. That's when I knew I'd become a big player.

 

God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.

I assume the "Roulette Trick" is playing against yourself or your partner on red/black odd/even, etc. You'll lose on 0/00. That's a way you can turn "Funny Money" chips into real ones.

 

Same here, turkey and a pumpkin pie at the local TI casino in MN.

 

With a new card sign up, you could play video roulette to earn points by betting $68 on both black and red (or odd/even) plus $4 on single zero at the time. Worst case was losing $4 per spin for non zero number or breaking even if zero came up. After accumulating a certain number of points you went to spin a wheel at the desk and you could win a prize with the worst being $10 in free slot play. I then returned to the roulette machine and played $68, $68 and $4 until I had the required number of points for 2 free buffets for new members. I knew going in the worst case scenario was losing $19 with the required hedged spins along with the $10 free play.

I'm sure they closed this loophole pretty quickly, but their computer must have thought I was really playing $140 a spin on roulette for a few minutes and thought I was a big player. I did end up playing a lot on my free trip with the gains from my free play but I'm sure nothing close to what was required in theoretical for what I received. The numbers might be slightly off but you get the general idea.

 

Oh yea, I forgot. We also got a pumpkin pie with each turkey.
