I'm still standing! Now with blisters.

The meetup last night was awesome! It was so much fun to put faces to names. Even the great Royal Flusher was in attendance. He is everything you would expect...demanding, grumpy and cantankerous. Everyone else was super nice and it was like old friends meeting, although getting people linked up with their screen names took us all a few minutes. I never realized quite how silly sounding my board name is. The only regret was that we had to cut the party short for dinner at Yellowtail. That old curmudgeon RF joined UKfanatic, his lovely sister and myself. It was my first time eating real sushi (and sake) and I think I'd be willing to try it again. After dinner, there was a little gambling by the boys, but I really can't tell you what they were doing, what they hit or if it was good. I was just watching chips fly and trying to not get in the way. They enjoyed making me throw the dice, and I only hit two people which is pretty impressive for me.

I went to bed around 2 am, and now I'm awaiting my breakfast of huveos rancheros and the arrival of mom. The second chapter of the trip begins when she lands, and the tale will be very different for sure.

I really enjoyed the meetup! Skadoo is lovely and put up graciously with my endless torment at the craps table.

It was great to meet everyone, I really enjoyed our conversation, and dinner was so much fun!

(Skadoo, you need to stop complaining that the sushi is 'underdone again'.)

I hope mom enjoys this stay at Bally's because its my last.

Good job bean counters, but we all know I'm not your target market. 16.80 early check in fee? You know this girl told them that their competitors don't pull that stuff and to give me a break. Not even tempted to gamble in their casino. If it was a Friday or Saturday, I'd understand. But it's a Monday with no big conventions in town.

Why am I having such poor check-in luck? I need a hug.

Flamingo wanted $30 for early check-in. NO, NO:poke: Also on a Monday. They also wanted $50 for early departure whatever the hell that means.

Mom has arrived and we checked in to Bally's. Did the $20 trick with a much nicer clerk and got a North tower room. It's okay...but mom has agreed to this being the last Bally's visit and actually agreed that the room was kind of shabby. We had Earl of Sandwich for lunch and it was...meh. We gambled at Cosmo and lost. Now we're trying to figure out our next activity now that we're checked in. Mom is itching to gamble and hit up the Circus Circus. Resistance is futile.

I really like your posts, it's great reading a trip in progress.

Happy Birthday, it sounds like you're having a good time.

Oh and thanks for posting a picture, it's always nice placing a face with a name. Nice picture by the way.

    Monday night update

So tonight took us on an adventure because mom had never seen the south end of the strip. She liked Mandalay Bay but she loves Luxor. Why does she love Luxor? She found a new favorite machine. It used to be "inching diamonds" (the ones where the diamonds move to the payline) but now it's Elvis the King. She hit several bonuses and likes that it plays Elvis songs. She was a huge Elvis fan in her youth and saw him in concert a bunch. After that, we walked through Excalibur, which she declared nicer than circus circus, and said she wouldn't mind staying there. (That was quickly vetoed by yours truly.) I then proclaimed my extreme hunger and we returned to our hotel, and grabbed Bally's tacos. She enjoyed that because she could hear the Taylor Hicks concert from the taco place. The food wasnt very good, but I was hungry so it worked. Then we gambled, and I won about 100 bucks on some random slot machine. Mom was wandering looking for her main man, the king. He wasn't at Bally's, so she begged to go to Bills. After futzing around for a few minutes, she spots him. She TCB'd by winning another 50 bucks on this particular Elvis machine. She said the one at Luxor was better because he sang louder. She was very happy with the win, and proclaimed there would be much more Elvis tomorrow. She just likes to watch him dance, she didn't even notice how much she was winning, just how long he gyrated. We're both exhausted and calling it a night. She's promised we can go to Milos tomorrow. Take the over/under on that. The odds are on her winning so it doesn't happen. Mom always wins!

Enjoying the report. Something tells me you have fun no matter how many poop stains, chargers, or back row airplane seats try to foul your trip. I will take Milo's on the bet for $5, I think your Mom is going to surprise you!

    Happy Birthday!

    TCB baby, TCB.

I wonder if the moth and overall skankiness problems at Dickscalibur have been solved?...

    Nice win, keep it up!

What you're neglecting to tell everyone is that you hit a point and made RF, me, and everyone else some money!

Happy Birthday to you both. Take care of your Mom:nworthy:
Thanks for reporting so not really necessary to buy a ticket to Taylor Hicks show? Agree did not find the two dollars tacos at Ballys very good.

I don't really think you do - is he playing in the Indigo Lounge? If so, you can hear that ALL OVER the back end of the casino. You don't have a table with a drink or anything but you can hear the Indigo music all over without paying for a ticket.
