    My Trip Report

Well, I have returned from my Caesars Palace trip using a host for the first time. It was an experience to say the least.

My best hit was at my local casino on $60 free play on the way to the airport. I bartend and was supposed to work til 2am, then catch my flight at Pittsburgh at 5:50 am. The bar was dead and I got off 2 hours early. I was afraid to sleep and miss my flight...so what does a degenerate gambler do? Hit the local casino and then make the 1/2 hour drive to the airport from there. I started off on silver swords for my first $20 in free play. Nada. Then I spot an opening at the community Wizard of Oz machines. This was the seat that a couple of weeks prior I saw a woman hit back to back handpays...that had to be good right? I put $20 in freeplay and get a couple hits at an 80 cent bet and a couple of bonuses so I up my bet to $2.00 for a couple of hits since I'm up a couple hundred. I get the wizard symbol a couple of times. The wizard bonus comes up and the guy next to me says "oh my god you got it at 100X bonus." I look up and holy shit he is right. During the bonus the wizard comes up again, and I am now at 400x bonus. Then I get double wild reels and a seven for a kick ass total.

Woo hoo!!! $3200 large before I even hit vegas!! Unfortunately it all goes kinda downhill from there. I am still up now after the handpay $600 on the machine. I am checking the time and still playing. I play down to $400 and cash out. I CANT miss my flight. I ask the security lady at the door for someone to walk me out to my car, as it is now 4am. She says I can have them do it from the camera room. Great...then they can watch me getting hit over the head.

I get in my car and punch up the airport on gps and haul ass for the first 15 minutes or so. It then gets scary. The gps gods took me the shortest route but not the best route in the fog at 4:15 am. I can hear the deliverance banjos playing. The state route turns into a rural route thru the woods. I nearly missed 2 deer and parts of the road were all double s bends so you couldnt go faster than 25. Dear god...I'm gonna miss the plane!!! The GPS has to have gotten me lost...I am in the middle of the woods in the middle of no where BFE. Oh my god my BF is waiting for me in Vegas and will KILL me if I miss my flight. Suddenly the road opens up to the street my airport parking place is on...one block up. Damn it I love gps. It is 4:30 am...my flight is in an hour. I can do this. The shuttle drops me off and I haul ass thru the airport...security is pretty quick at 5am. Get to my gate! The plane is already boarding. Run to pee out the large coke I drank while driving and haul ass to get on the plane. I get seated. Vegas here I come!

Or so I thought. The crews limo did not pick them up on time, and we had to de-ice so we took off late. I flew from Pitt to Washington DC, and from Dc to Vegas. I know its dumb but it was only $288. I get to DC and get off the plane. I look at the screen and realize I have to get to the entire other side of the airport in the next 30 seconds or so as my plane is boarding. I have to OJ Simpson thru the DC airport. No lie...it was crazy. I was jumping over luggage and knocking down old ladies. Got from D gate to A gate in 10 minutes. The Juice would have been proud. I couldn't breathe. But I made my freaking plane. :nworthy: Vegas here I come!!!

I get to the Vegas airport and look for my limo driver that my host called ahead and said she was sending. The running joke with my BF always was..."The way you play, they aughta be picking you up at the airport in a limo." Ha ha BF the joke is on you. I had to get a pic of the driver to rub it in a little.

    IMG_20121009_104729.jpg

He didn't look happy, did he? LOL. He was nice enough though. We picked up the BF at Bally's where he and his brother were staying for their boys football weekend. He was waiting outside the sportsbook. I don't think he really believed I would be in a limo until I pulled up. We got dropped off at the VIP Laurel Collection porte cochere. We went to the private check in and were promptly given our room. He "upgraded" us to a luxury Octavius tower room. I kind of giggled as it was the same room we were promised, just with a pool view. Just what I wanted anyway. It was only 10:30 and our room wasn't ready so we checked our bags and went to eat. They were going to call when it was ready. We hit the machines for a while, then went back to the desk to check on the room. It was finally ready. The only negative is the long walk to the tower. We did find a shortcut past the buffet from the tower, so it wasn't bad.:Þ

    IMG_20121009_152205.jpg

I stayed in the Forum tower in August and it was the nicest room I had been in in Vegas, but the Octavius tower is the BOMB!! Stunning room, very spacious, and well thought out.

    IMG_20121009_152218.jpg IMG_20121009_152554.jpg IMG_20121009_152505.jpg

We got settled in and hit the casino. The original plan was to hit the pool, but as my luck of this trip started to turn, it was spitting rain, and chilly. I stashed my "extra bankroll" and did not tell my BF I went to or hit at the casino before the trip. He would have made me hand it over, cause he is mr responsible. He is my banker in Vegas. I tend to chase losses and get carried away, so he doles out my daily BR to me. I was kind of excited to have this secret cushion to rely on...for now.

    Beginning of The Bad Decisions:
Two days before my trip, at work there was a family with two kids having dinner at 9 pm. The one kid was hacking and coughing the whole time they were there. And of course running around everywhere. Spreading germs. I offhandedly said to someone..."that kid better not get me sick for my trip!" Guess what...one hour in Vegas and I started feeling ill. Headache, sneezing, sinus pressure. Son of a bitch...not now!!!! AARRGGGHHH. So let the sick brained, dizzy, bad decisions begin. I decided I would take my cold medicine I brought just in case, and drink my way through it.:beer: That always works!

a day late and $800 short
This would be the theme for my entire trip. It seemed that I was the starting pitcher this trip. I warmed up the machines and everyone else in Vegas was the relief pitcher. Every machine I would play, get off and move down the line. The next person on my machine would hit on it. Without fail. The entire trip. The worst was an $800 hit a girl got on a machine on her second spin after I moved down one machine. It ate my money and I never got a hit on it. :Þ Ok I know random number generators and all, blah blah blah. That was my $800 dollars. Grrrrrrr.

Back to the room day one
So I promptly burn thru my $300 of BF assigned bankroll for the day. We head up to the room to freshen up for the evening. I hit up my secret BR and peel off $300. In my ill, medicated, partially drunk state I thought, its only $300. I'll only do this once. We head out for the night. I got obsessed with the new collossal reel Sparticus machines. I hit on one for $170 and was hooked. I started my trip at 2400 tier points and was hoping to hit platinum this trip. The points were racking up. I start hitting here and there for $50 or $60 bucks. There was a whole row of these machines. I played them all, and the drink service was great. The Malibu and pineapples were flowing. I am suddenly tapped out again. The BF had gotten bored and gone to the book, so guess what? I hit the room again. Another $300 from the stash. It was ok. I still have $3000 left. I wont touch it again.

    I love you Michael!
Back on the casino floor, swich up from the Forum section and head to the Palace casino. I played what I think is the funnest, most exciting game on the floor. The Michael Jackson slots. I am a child of the 80's and loved his music, but the graphics and the exciting bonuses make this a very entertaining way to loose your money. Had a few small hits and hit a few bonuses. Enough to play for a couple more hours. A checkin from the BF telling me I was nuts after burning thru $100 I had just won on a bonus. He tapped out for the night and went to bed leaving me to my devices. I played for a couple more hours and exhausted and tapped out again, I went to bed at 3am. End of day one.

Nice win on Wizard of Oz! Fun TR so far. Looking forward to the rest.

I have to know, how did you score a CET host with 2400 tier credits? You must have earned all in a very short period of time?

We went in August for a week. I earned the 2400 that week at Caesars. The host left a message on our phone after checkout on our last day. She then sent us an e-mail two weeks later offering comp nights at Octavius tower.

Yes it did. I play mostly penny slots with an average BR of $300 daily. I play for an average of 4-8 hours a day of course depending on my luck. Lots of small hits, and usually cycle the wins back thru unfortunately. LOL

    Day Two
Day two begins with my illness kicking in in earnest. Take my cold pill at 1pm when I roll out of bed. The BF had already headed for the book to make his bets. His sole reason for Vegas is to sports bet. He used to play blackjack too but decided that you cant beat the dealers in Vegas, so hasn't played in the last two trips. I am starting to warm him up to slots after two hits last trip. He does like the power strike game and quick hits. He thinks I am nutz for sitting on machines for 6 hours a day. I think he is nutz for sitting in the book for hours looking at power ratings and listening to espn ad nauseaum. We have decided to agree to disagree.
I head down and decide to try one of the other Wizard of Oz games.

Don't Sit By Me Then Bitch!
Ok, my biggest pet peave in Vegas. I get that you non smokers get irritated by us smokers, I really do. However, DO NOT sit down next to me when I am already smoking, and wave your arms in my face like you are a baby bird trying to take flight. It does not magically make the smoke go away and just PISSES ME OFF!!! Vegas is one of our last indoor places to enjoy a cigarette, so deal. I try and be polite and ask before I light up if it will bother anyone, so leave me alone. This woman sits next to me as I am smoking and every 5 seconds waves her hand in front of her face. She either has bad neurological tics or she was too rude to just ask me to put it out. I then hit a Glenda bonus of 3 wild rows for $100 and she got too frustrated and left.

    Damn, He found me again
My BF tends to always find me in the casino no matter how hard I try to hide. He is the last human on the planet without a cel phone, so its not like he can call me. He caught me on a Goldfish machine, which is fine because they are money suckers in Vegas. He wanted to go to PHO. That was fine with me as I usually have pretty good luck over there. We made the trek over the bum bridge to Bally's, thru Paris and over to PHO. I find a Reels o' Dublin and settle in. He stopped at their book. (do they secretly give you guys something at the book I don't know about? He has to go in every one like the birds returning to Capistrano) I hit for $100 on I think an 80 cent bet. I promptly head over to the Lil Red collossal machine I eyed up on the way in. I played it for a good 2 hours ended up hitting for $80 on it still on my original $20. I also slipped $20 in the Sparticus machine next door. I know, bad form playing two machines but some guy had just hit for $100 and I thought it may dump again. It did, but after my second $20 I had to put in. It hit for about $90 after having played it for an hour or so. So I am up $190 at PHO. I know not big money, but for a penny player like me, ok for 3 hours of play with tier points building.
The BF shows up behind me like he does. He has a ticket in his hand for $200. He hates slots but seems to hit big on them when he puts $20 in. (Last trip he ramdomly put $20 in a quarter machine and hit for $700 on the 9th spin.) He announces it is time to eat.

    Please feed me
Another way the good old BF and I differ is eating habits. I am 5'11 and 130lbs. I have a very high metabolism and have to eat 100 times a day. He will only eat ONE meal a day in Vegas. I have learned to pack a lot of snacks and treats. We went back to Caesars and tried out the new Rao's as this was the buffet line...
    IMG_20121012_122115.jpg IMG_20121012_122032.jpg

Rao's had a completely empty front "patio" so we went there to eat. The food was ok, overpriced in my opinion. They don't even bring you bread with your meal unless you ask. The other negative is that they are not tied to Caesars so you cannot charge to your room or get reward and tier points for your meal. It wasn't as fantastic as they made the New York location out to be on the Food Network. Meh, Olive Gardenish I thought. I was starved though, so I wasn't gonna complain.

    Secret BR Part Three
I hit the slots again in a cold med/Malibu blur and hit zero again. The BF is awol so I hit the room again for some money. I think $500 this time. Didn't want to make the trip up again tonight if I had to. Still good though. $2500 left. One hit and I'll be ok.

    Old People Frustrate Me
I hit the Palace slots and Beeline for a different Wizard of Oz. As I get to it, a voice behind me says very sternly, "I'm playing that!" I turn around and look down at the 60ish old lady scolding me. I turn and look at the machine I am standing at. No coin in and no players card. Her husband is looking mean at me, ready to fight me for his wife. Deciding it was not worth fighting with this old crusty biddy I let her have it. I mumbled "hope you lose" to myself as I walked away. She put me in a funk for the rest of the night and had a bad run for 6 or so hours. However the bright side is I am very close to hitting platinum. End of night two. Time for bed.

You probably know this, but the reason a sports bettor goes into every book that's convenient is to line shop. Not all books are connected, and sometimes where one book has a -3.5 line, you might find the same line for -3 at another. Doesn't sound like much, but if you're laying the points, laying 3 is a HUGE advantage over laying 3.5.

It's the male equivalent of shopping the sales at shoe stores.

Very entertaining, keep it coming! I do have a question about the picture next to the bed in the first pic of your room. Um, what are those women doing?

Um, I pondered that about the women! Actually, they are a mother/daughter the mother is putting something in the daughters hand. They had a statue of the same in the Laurel Collection hallway to the elevators.

@JXPrime...as I said above, she found me. I was contacted by her after our August trip. I just slow play the pennies, and usually put what I win back thru. I do gamble for quite a few hours a day. They seem to like that.
