I just got back from my trip last week and I spend every night at the four queens playing blackjack switch. I got comped food every day and the pitboss told me on my last day I had comps in their system. I told her I would be back within six months so to hold them.

I was going to call to see if I could get any comped rooms. Do they have hosts at this hotel?

My husband plays VP there so receives many comps. He always gets free rooms and free play and sometimes full RFB including dinner at Hugos. One time he received an offer for a free flight but the timing didn't work for us. All of his offers have come in the mail though. If we've misplaced an offer, he just phones and ask the reservation clerk for free rooms and has never been denied. The mail offers are enough for us as we don't want shows, so we've never had a need to ask for more. We have never seen or heard from a host, so I'm curious too.

Perhaps bigger rollers are assigned a particular host, but I just call and ask to be transfered to the host telephone. Someone picks up, a different host on duty each day, and can see what I qualify for. I do this every year because I winter in Florida and the post card mailings are not forwarded.

I don't play enough for comps other than those mailed to me, but generally those are 3 nights (weekends included) with some freeplay ($80 last time) and maybe some food.

Also, almost every month there is one weekend where there is a slot tournament and again I get 3 nights, free entry, and a couple breakfasts in the tournament room.

I go for 23 nights on average to Vegas and hop around between deals, so I split my time between months, hoping to connect for freebies in each month. If I get lucky, I'll get 3 nights mailed and 3 nights with a tournament, covering one weekend in my first month and one in my last month.

Also, always go to the Player's Club and ask about promotions. They will tell you how much freeplay you have. Once they gave me a coupon for half off a meal. Another time I got to spin for extra freeplay with the minimum being $20, Another time I got free show tickets, that show had a coupon for the second show so I ended up seeing two for a total of $5 and picking up a matchplay that caught on the craps table.

I don't extend my stay so as to concentrate my bankroll on the nights I am there. I don't play enough for a fourth night to be comped on my way outm and I hate watering down my play by staying longer than I can play. I stay at The D or at Gold Spike or maybe El Cortez cabana if I need extra nights downtown.

I may try extending next trip by getting the Binions poker rate which would get me rooms at the Four Queens as well, usually for $24 which is the same as what is charged to extend a trip by the Four Queens.
I would be expected to play poker, but there is no set limit on how much. Also, my poker play at Binions is collected in a separate computer from my slot/vp play at the Four Queens, so the Binions days do not water down my VP earned comps as long as I don't play just a little bit of VP on the days the rooms were comped for poker at Binions. Binions VP is terrible.

All this was clearly explained to me by one of the hosts in the office. They are the friendliest folks I have ever seen as hosts for low rollers and the frugal players. I hate those mind games the rest play where they evaluate your play after your trip and make you feel like you are insufficient and not worth much. Most of my play is advantage VP and yet at the Four Queens I am never made to feel unappreciated.

The only downside is that the mailings are generally sent at the last minute, so I get nervous and want to be booked somewhere in case I don't get a mailing for the time I want. So, usually I am double booked by the time the mailing shows up ( or by the time the host knows exactly what the mailing will be) Well, I am so often double booked anyway for part of my trip while I see what deals I can find that it is no big deal in this case. However, I wish they had mailings like the one I got from the Orleans. 2 free nights good until the end of April. That lets me plan my trip.

I like to be double booked to. I am already booked at the flamingo on comps but we like to spend a lot of time downtown so being double booked will be our plan.

yes, that works for those with good bankrolls.
I am double booked just for short times while I sort out the possibilities. Then I cancel one of the bookings. At the same time, if a mailed comp does not come through I have the insurance of a good rate somewhere else to fall back on.

I Used to Have One There

Several years ago, I had Sara Domingo as my casino host... I don't know if she still works there, but the e-mail address was: [email protected]

    Four Queens Hosts

Sara is no longer at the 4Q. They have three hosts there now: Paul, Jen & Mike. All are very nice and will help you out.
