My next update will be probably be Sunday as I am heading out to South Bend for the Notre Dame straight from work tomorrow. I might try to sneak in an update at some point Saturday. Hope the report is coming along ok.

Still to come: Cabana at the pool, my first handpay, and playing HL baccarat with a Columbian drug lord.

Sounds like a blast nothing like being young and partying. Good job on the diamond card.

I arrive back to the room a little after 10:00 in the morning. The rest of the group is still sleeping of course. We had a cabana booked at Paris beginning at 10 but had agreed we’d probably get to it around noon. I was able to wake one of my roommates up (the one sleeping in the crevice) and convince him to get food with me. After the usual indecision of sit down, fast food or buffet, we decided to go to Wicked Spoon…And WOW, it was amazing. It was a holiday so the price was $33 but worth every penny. Seriously, best buffet I have ever had (I’ve tried Wynn, Spice Market and Mandalay). Everything we ate was top notch and the desserts were just out of this world. This will definitely become a regular stop out future Vegas trips.

After stuffing our faces, we decide its pool time (logical bunch we are, right?). We assemble the rest of the group and get to the cabana. The Paris pool is surprisingly quite loud and a moderate party atmosphere. We expected more of a quiet, relaxing scene but no complaints from us. The cabana was nice and included a bottle of vodka (although we ordered two more). It also had a nice TV that enabled us to watch college football all day. We were there until about 6 pm. Very relaxing. Met some cute girls, did some swimming and just enjoyed our time there in general.

Afterwards, we decided to forego our previous plans of napping and just start getting after it right away. We all showered and got dressed and had some drinks in the room. We took off around 10 pm with the sole intention of playing craps all night. I was running on fumes at this point (about 4 hours of sleep over the past 48 hours) and being out all day in the sun did not help my cause. We played craps at just about every Caesar’s property and were all up a couple hundred by about 3 am. At this point, I decided to call it a night (pretty early for my usual Vegas standards). The rest of the group played some more and I believe a few strip clubs were involved. Saturday was a pretty chill day overall. I entered Sunday up a little over a thousand. However, Sunday would be the day where the real winning began and I would accidently achieve my Diamond in a Day status.

I was pretty much free until 5 o’clock when the White Sox took on the Tigers. I had placed $100 on the White Sox to win in the Paris sportsbook the previous night. It was a drunken bet and I struck up a great conversation with the employee, Eddie, at the sportsbook. He was a big ND fan as well. He gave me a about 15 drink tickets (VERY generous for a $100 bet) and let me know he would be working at the Bally’s sportsbook the next day and to watch the Sox game there.

I was up and down playing baccarat and craps when I decided to head into the Champagne Slots area around 3 pm. At this point, I was already somewhat drunk (Maker’s Mark…of course) and the group had already been separated. I put in $200 at the $5 WoF machine and a few “Spins” later, I was up to $800. My luck on this machine was unbelievable. I decided it was time to try out the beast of a machine behind me…the $25 WoF machine. I decided my limit would be $300. $50 a spin is a ridiculous amount for my usual gambling. But, wouldn’t you know it, I landed a “Spin” on my first go at it. Without hesitating, I went after it and there it was, $2000. My first handpay. I took a couple pictures with my cell phone to send to the rest of the group/family back home and filled out the appropriate tax info to give Uncle Sam his share (he needs it…).

At this point, my trip was going to be a big winner no matter what. I was playing with house money so I decided it was nothing but $25 minimums from here on out (my brain works a strange way after some drinking and winning). I met up with the rest of the group at Bally’s sportsbook and sure enough, Eddie was there. We talked a bit more and a few of my friends placed some bets. We all tipped him $10 and he literally gave us the entire book of drink tickets. He didn’t even rip any out…just gave us the book. That pretty much established our plans for the next few hours. I grabbed a hot dog from Nathan’s right across from the sportsbook and got comfortable with a few drinks. We had excellent drink service at the bar from a hilarious bartender named Pho. We tipped him well and he made the drinks very strong.

Unfortunately, the White Sox lost…but we had a ton of drinks and still had coupons left over. The coupons were good at Ballys, Paris or Planet Hollywood so we decided to check out Planet Hollywood. It was around 8:30 and the night was just getting started.

Good report! I don't think I would have the balls to play a $25 slot machine even if I hit a large win on another slot. Everytime I have had a handpay I guess I do the smart thing and stop playing and be happy I hit it! lol.

Although I can't say that everytime. I did hit a $3400 Wheel of Fortune hit and then went to 2/5 NL and bought in $500, played crazy, lost within about 45 mins. My rule is to not play cards drunk but I didn't listen to the rule that time.

It was a good trip report until i got to the end of the thread and there was no conclusion. Why take 9-10 days to write it and its still not fully up? You dont have to write it like a book with chapters or like a weekly TV show. You dont have to keep us hanging on with "Columbian drug lord and Diamond in a day" teasers. You're not JK Rowling writing the Harry Potter series.

Write out the full TR, intersperse it with some pictures if you like and then just post it.

Sorry to be so blunt but I started reading it and was like "cool TR, this guy had fun", then I got to the bottom of the page, checked the last post which was 9 days after you started the TR and was left hanging with no conclusion and then I thought to myself I just wanna punch this guy in the throat lol. Now you have me hoping ND loses the rest of their games this year.
