    My Trip Report

Made a one-day trip to Tunica on Friday after my friends came up from South Carolina the Vanderbilt South Carolina football game. *On Thursday we drove down on Friday for one night to Gold Strike.*
I had not been to Tunica in two years so it was good to return. We arrived on Friday evening got settled in and went downstairs to play. I played some blackjack with my wife and our friends as we were very lucky to find a $10 table and sstart playing right away all the ones you wanted to play it. I was happy to triple my $60 buy-in in about an hour.

After blackjack my friend and I went over to the craps table where several people playing on the five dollar table and after watching for a minute we were able to get in and play together. *It was packed but we both bought in and began to stay up for a little while or at least even but then slowly it started to go downhill. I eventually told my friend that I was going over to the Horseshoe to play for a little while. I was happy to see that at the Goldstrike they do offer triple on the 12 on the field. The two pays double. GS also has the ATS bet now (All Tall Small) but I never saw anyone make this bet.*
I had to get some play over at Horseshoe so the offers would start coming back to me. I played craps for a bit but I wasn't feeling it. Apparently nobody else was either. The shooter when I arrived was using a 3V set and was taking his time setting it up but it seemed to be working ok for him. It was 2am by this time so I think most people were just too tired.*
The 'Shoe had more tables open and more spots available. But after craps I just went to the high limits slots and played a $5 for about $35. Nothing happened. I did notice someone had hit and was being congratulated by a friend. I merely walked by looking for the machine I wanted to play and a security guard nodded and said hello but I sensed he was also keeping people away from the winning slot. Don't mind me, I'm just losing Money here.*
So I had back over to the Goldstrike. I find my friends still playing blackjack they were now at a $25 dollar table that had been grandfathered from a $10 table. They seemed to be happy and doing well. I told them I was very tired and ready to head up. But I had to try to high limit slots just to get a feel for them. So I walk-through looking for a $5 machine and I saw a woman walk away from one. I made sure she did not want to go back to the machine I sat down and put $20.
I accidentally bumped it to 2 credits. Instead of cashing out and retrying I said what the heck and spun it. Glad I did! It hit for 40 credits. I was now back in the black. I played a few more times and told myself to quit at 30. Well at that point it hit again and got me back to 40 credits. I took the $200 and ran!
Off to bed for me since I wanted to Be rested to shoot some dice in the AM.*

In bed at 3, awake again at 745. Ah, gambling is great.*
I managed to half sleep til about 845 and couldn't stand it. Out of the 7 of us there only about 4 were truly gambling so I knew they wouldn't want to hand around much longer when they woke up.*

I go downstairs and buy in at craps for $100. Table about half full. Not much came of it and nobody could hit more than 1 number. After all people shot once I knew it was time to go dark. I managed to make about half my $ back, partially due to hitting 2 passes myself. ( when I would get the dice again I went back to right betting. )

My friend came down stairs so we played some slots. He isn't a gambler at all. He fooled around on a penny slot then said "I want to try $1 slot. So I recommended the high limit area. We sat at 2 $5 machines. Probably should've went with $1 as I lost $60 really fast.*
My wife came down next and informed me everyone else stayed up til 630 am (that is, the 3 who stayed up playin blackjack. ) I figured they had cleaned up but later found that 2 had made about a hundy each, but M was down almost 400. One of them was a casino virgin. I was hoping to get to play craps with her as the shooter!
Anywho, my wife and M and I hit blackjack again. I buy in for $60 and played until time to leave. Happily I doubled my buy in.*

I LOVE that Gold Strike will comp you AFTER you play and out of 2 rooms they did just that. It took about 10 minutes of waiting but they looked at all 5 players cards and thanks to M losing his ass ($500 -- hey he's a fireman and admits he doesnt make much. In his words "that blackjack dealer beat my d!¢k off!"), they comped one of the rooms.*

It was a quick trip but a fun one, especially the drive there. With 6 of 7 people getting pretty tipsy on a gallon of Gentleman Jack, we had great times. I wish the gambling would have been better-- my wife fared the best as she tripled her buy in both times at BJ. She is amazing at it.*
Next year our tradition of watching the SC Gamecocks takes us to Knoxville so we may find ourselves working in a trip to Harrahs Cherokee *now that they have table games!

Fun report. I'm surprised nobody was playing the ATS when you first approached the craps table. Every time I play at GoldStrike, its an incredibly popular bet

I probably Mis stated that. I started the report using the Dragon app you speak in to.
Yes it was insanely popular and it was played every time-- but it never hit while I was playing. Seems even more popular than the firebet.
It sure makes me hate the 7 even more though!

PS I hated that Kentucky lost today, I was pulling for them.

The firebet next door is vey popular in Tunica as well, but when I play at GoldStrike, it seems everyone at the table (except me) is playing the ATS. I should probably start. When I played there a couple months ago, during the weekend I hit the all tall twice and the everything once while I was shooting. Had a lot of happy people around me!

Sounds like a lot of fun for a one night trip.

If you are hitting that well, you should probably toss a buck or 2 on it. Then again if you have my luck, when you start betting on it, the bet wont hit. When you stop, you start hitting again lol.

Two other points I wanted to bring up:

    1. Apparantly the $20 trick does nothing for you at Gold Strike Tunica. THe nice clerk accepted it, but didnt seem to give anything for it.

    2. Harrah's seems to have really livened up their outdoor neon display at the casino. Maybe it's because I've been away for 2 years, but it just seemed better and brighter. It looked great.

I think I have the same luck as you! When it comes to craps, I am usually good for about three rolls before sevening out, or twenty, nothing in between. Problem is, of course, you never know when the long roll is coming.

You are right about Harrahs. Since it transitioned from being the Grand, they have worked to liven it up
