.......Nov 4-9. $20 per night. Usually stay at Bally's, but since i haven't been to Vegas in 2 years by TR card has "0" points. Hopefully my week in Vegas will give me some points to use when i go back in Spring. I know IP and the construction is going on but this time i'm going solo and just need a bed. I mostly use my gambling money at Bally's, Paris, PH, and CP. I do like the other casino's like Venetian, NYNY, Mirage, Wynn, etc. but those places are more for looking. Like i said, haven't been to Vegas in 2 years, used to spend about a week there every Spring, Summer, and Fall since LaQuinta Inn was there (remember when they used to be on the Strip where Monte Carlo is now?). But IP will be fine for this trip.......after all....i'll be in my favorite place.....Vegas BABY!!!!!!

I agree...anyplace in LV is better than being at home and missing the trip....:) We just got home and the "mess" around the construction wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Hope you have a great trip!

The mess around IP is manageable. It's not really that bad.

Is that price with your TR card or is that just regular price? Even with no trips in 2 years & zero points, you should log in with your card # & enter your dates online to see if you can get something else.

I would definitely stay at IP also if that kept me in Vegas and on the strip & almost have due to really good offers with the room - but always make sure there isn't something hiding in your account that you might not even know about (you won't have offers - just enter in the calendar). I just normally take the nicest room that comes up with a $0 next to it.

My only suggestion at the IP is if you want to get to sleep easier before 3am, request a room away from the strip. Construction noise in the back may not be ideal in the morning, but the noise and bass from carnival court in the evenings could easily keep people up.

I'll be there this weekend for four nights at IP. I'll post something when I get back to let you know how it is.

I used my TR card upon logging into the calender and it comes to $100 plus tax for 5 nights. I originally was going Oct 21-26 but Thurs night was really high. The last week in Oct was really really high, i guess for Halloween. But the first week in Nov. was fantastic, $20 a night. My acct. didn't have anything in it, "0" on my balance, but i did use my TR card. Everything else was higher, including i4Vegas, even with my card.
I wanted to stay at Bally's like i usually do but, since i have "0", i wanted someplace cheaper because i'm going solo. I prefer to gamble on CET properties, but also like to spend some of my time at Bellagio, Luxor, etc. just because it "Vegas". I never have been in Vegas in Nov., the latest has always been Oct. I know i will be in Vegas during the Election, but i live in Calif. and i don't vote.....LOL.

Thanks, i'll request it, but i won't use the $20 trick for a $20 a night room... this isn't Encore, or even Travelodge......LOL.

In May/June for a 23 day trip I had three weekday IP reservations (I covered my weekends in cheap or free places downtown---4 Queens/Gold Spike) but I was double booked with the D for the third set of weekdays, and I decided to cancel the IP and go with the D in part because of those IP check-in issues.

Perhaps the pattern has changed, but sometimes the check-in line was all the way to the other end of the casino. The worst wait I actually experienced was 45 minutes, but I estimated one line that I passed while I was staying there to be over 3 hours.

My future strategy might be to just leave the bags and do the actual check-in really late the first night of a booking; however, then the rooms away from the band noise would probably be gone and quiet is important to me.

One late check-in left me with no option other than band noise nights. The clerk gave me a high room and that seemed to help, but it still was not really what I wanted.
After one night, they did move me to a quieter room the next morning, but staying around to wait for the room to be cleaned and then moving again was a hassle. I told them I had two other reservations coming up and asked what was a good strategy and the clerk suggested that I call the manager a day ahead of my next check-in date, so on the day before my next check-in, I called the manager and requested quiet. He put that in my request notes, and that is what I was given, but had that been a late check-in, quiet rooms might not have been available.

Perhaps coming in early and talking them into locking up a quiet room and then coming really late to actually check in might be the best strategy to avoid the lines and get a quiet room. I'm really hoping that once all the renovation is over, the issue of long check-in lines will also be addressed.

Dewey, you seem to know a lot about Buses. I have a question. I know the Strip buses like the Deuce and SDX are $5.00 for 1 day and $20 for a 3 day pass, however, what about the RTC? Does it go along the Strip like the others? It says fares are $2.00 per ride, that would be fine for me. The website doesn't show the bus schedule.

Let's take any bus discussion on fares over to the transportation part of this board and leave this thread for the discussion of the IP. I moved your question
