The free booze is addicting (not in THAT way). I booked first class flights the entire trip since it wasn't that much more than a good seat in coach and I am too used to free drinks. Even better, you don't have to tip the flight attendants.

I dont visit the local Casinos here at home. It just isnt the same vibe and I dont enjoy paying for drinks while I gamble. It just seems so cheap and tacky!!

Last summer my fiance and I were on this shuttle bus for a Polish festival and I joking said to him that we might get one for our wedding. The lady sitting across from us told us we should go to Las Vegas to get married.

Since then I have been on various boards regarding marriage in Las Vegas, websites and here....

So yes, I am addicted and I have yet to go and when I do, both fiance and I will be Las Vegas Virgins! :noangel:

Exactly! I never go to the casinos/riverboats around me. I feel that if I have a bad trip than I am just pissing away my Vegas money. They just don't compare to the atmosphere of Mecca.

Not only do the suck, but cost wise cheaper if you research your air fare for example Foxwoods and Mohegian Sun closest to me at the moment in Conn.

Drive time 2.5 hours each way with gas $, Las Vegas non stop 6 hours away.$180 each way
One night stay at either facility can be 180.00 - +500 on a weekend day :confused2: Rooms in Vegas Free ,
Dining choices limited and shows limited, Vegas not so multiple options to live the high life or lowball the entire trip
Table min I have rarely seen below $25

In conclusion your better off saving your small fix for the big fix, its still cheaper to Visit Vegas for a 4-5 day jaunt then those overnight jobs at the locals IMO

As you can tell from the original post, I'm extremely excited to go to Vegas. Although I'm currently burned out on closer destinations, I do enjoy the Beau. I get screwed big time on points and ECs but the facility itself is nice. My entire trip always ends up being free and it has a calmer vibe for us middle aged people. However, there is no comparison to the options in Vegas. When I go to Biloxi I usually end up driving about 7 hrs since there are no convenient flights, so actually the travel time to Vegas for me is about the same. Being a control freak I always figure if I run out of money or stop having fun (99% of my trips are solo) I can always hop in the car and go home. That being said, I've never left early. Is it October yet?

    I'm in remission currently

But next year, the year after who knows. Being so close to AC is a sickness in itself ,almost like an added tax and we have been cutting back on a lot of pricey entertainment locally and going to AC more. Vegas doesnt seem to want us as much anymore, must be all the big bucks from overseas?

I can't take a day off of work without coworkers saying, "Vegas again?!". My friends think I'm obsessed but I don't care. I typically go every 4 months on average; any longer and I start to have withdrawals.

People ask why I don't just go to local casinos (there are plenty of them on the reservations around here), and I tell them it does not compare. As mentioned before, I can't justify paying for drinks while gambling. If I go to a casino here and lose, not only did I lose gambling money, but I also lost money on drinks! At least in Vegas when I lose, the drinks I got while losing makes me feel like I won something.

Your comment made me laugh. Every time I say I'll be out of the office everyone asks "which casino?" I am stuck going with a friend to Tampa next week and the pay offs are beyond horrible. NO free drinks, NO free rooms, NO chance of winning. Their blackjack tables have auto shufflers that constantly give me the same cards for that ever popular 13 every hand. They have a player's club but I would never waste enough money there to get anything of value. But to me it is more like paying to play at a video arcade than gambling. I hope I can last until Oct without developing a twitch.

Since finding this board this week I've found myself reading stories and getting immersed in Vegas, until I snap out of it and realize I'm still at work...
