This is one area where my style of play works for me so that when a hot streak happens I never fail to capitalize on it - my betting level on each hand is predetermined by the hands that have come out, so whether I win big or lose is determined entirely by the order the winning hands come out of the shoe and not by my intestinal fortitude [or lack thereof] at any time while playing. Of course, the downside is when a shoe is choppy, I get killed - but again, at least I can blame it on the cards & not myself LOL

at BJ, on the other hand, I completely feel your pain - I'm constantly kicking myself for having thought about betting more or less in my head before I put my bet out there, doubting myself & not doing it, and then having the hand turn out to where I should've gone with my original gut bet level.

You know, that's actually a pretty good idea - judging from the following these tr's get on here + all the vegas & "High Roller" shows they're always running on the travel channel & elsewhere, there would definitely be an audience for it.

With the theo that you have at the Wynn, tell the suits there that you'd like for them to pay your way into the WSOP.

The casinos *definitely* don't want him playing in the WSOP. If Natedog is decent and careful he could easily survive a couple of days... maybe more with a bit of luck.

3 full days playing in the WSOP is almost $200k theo to the Wynn, I'm sure they would do anything to keep him around playing craps. If they only knew how much he was about to win :)

I knew that they'd do everything in their power to keep Nate playing in their house ... I just thought it would be fun to poke at the Wynn suits and let them scramble around coming up with some kind of bs answer to Nate. Remember they were the ones trying to get him into the "big game" at the B.
I wouldn't put it past the suits if they had some sort of "arrangement" to pad their own pockets from any new money that they bring into that game.

Actually that was the Bellagio suits. i'm sure fresh meat keeps that game going...and their poker room is still one of the most profitable in vegas...

My mistake. :peace: Actually it is pretty hard sometimes to tell the difference between the suits (and their actions) at some of those places. :evillaugh

I'll scope out your table while I'm in there. Maybe we'll see you Sunday :)

There's actually a $1 million entry event going on right now, where it has turned into a battle between poker pros and high-power business people... and the poker pros aren't doing so hot!

The Nacho view - Tuesday morning 7/3

So - after a run of bad days, I woke-up today thinking - hey, maybe today will be good.

(The night before, I hit the tables before and after dinner to get some live practice - I did well, two passes before dinner, then three passes after dinner...then some bad rolls on my part - hey, I was the only one at the table :wink2:). While that was ok, I noticed how many times I was hitting the 4....anyways...fast forward to Tuesday morning....I stirred around in bed and had a thought - what if I tried to focus more of my bets on the 4 and 10 today instead of an even spread across the numbers? I also wanted to try something with a higher yield - see if I can catch back up some from the previous days.

So, I showered, texted Natedog that I was hitting the tables and thought - today, let's experiment!

The table only had 2 people on it when I got there - I got my spot Left Stick 1 : then I did something different to maximize the 4&10 -
$25 each 4&10 working on come-out and $10 big red - and passline

I established 4 as the point and parlayed to $75 on the 4 -after the first roll, then $44 inside and 3X odds on the passline. I hit the 6/8/9 - and just racked the wins. Then some crap numbers, then made the pass on the 4 and racked the $150 along with the passline payout(min VIG). That felt good! Point of 9 was the next, but sevened out a couple of rolls into it. I was encouraged by the results, however because it was still a profitable roll!

So, for the "randies" - (random rollers), I just did $10 4&10 with $5 Seven - all working on comeout. Any hits, I parlayed i.e. first hit $30, second hit $90, third hit - rack profit and press the winning number to $100.

So, this play is more volatile, but it gives me the big rush that I imagine Natedog has on some of his big bets only on my smaller budget (haha - I'm missing some zeros :wink2:). I also get a big rush out of the progressive feature bets and this gives me some of that excitement as well on any table...

So...through the morning, I hit the 2 parlay on the 4 or 10 about 3 times and was in profit for the morning. I get the dice a third time(and do my 4&10 working on comeout) and this guy buys in next to me with big chips $1000s , $500s, $100 - bought in with $20k. I establish 10 as the point and the guy lays the 10 - no problem he's betting against me, since I've also been a darksider at times too - we'll just see who wins:wink2:

Anyways...I roll down the line - 9, 8, 6, 5 - then the big better next to me pulls his 10 Lay and goes inside place bets. I hit the 10 and make the pass - I guess I got a new friend:wink2:(Short lived though:cry:) - I collect my wins, set another point (I can't remember what it was now) roll a couple of numbers and seven-out. The Big Better passes and we suffer through 4- or 5 bad rolls until this tattooed guy get the dice and lights it up!

I do my usual $10 4&10 with $5 big red on come-out - I'll spare you the details, but he tapped my 10 five times and the 4 two times, on his way to making 2 passes. The big better was pretty happy next to me - he switched back to the "right-side" after the tattooed guy made the first pass and hit all of the numbers multiple times - I think we was pressed up to around $1000-$5000 on all of the numbers. After the tattooed guy made the second pass, the Big Better throws a $500 chip to the shooter and says I like you! -I wanna 40min roll! Every number you roll, I'll pay you $200....and this is to that tattooed guy who's only betting $5 red chips - I don't think he's ever touched a $500 chip before :licklips: - today was his lucky - he was a "sponsored" shooter! :nworthy:

So, our tattooed friend established 6 as the point, and rolls 6 right back (the big better throws $500 to the shooter)....

Third Point was 9, the shooter roll 5,6,8,10! - as I get paid out on my 10 parlay, the big better throws $800 to the shooter.

    Next roll....he sevens-out....

Great roll - me and the big better color-up - I hit the cage - for a $25 bet I got $1000 profit - not bad for an experiment. On my way back from the cage, I see the tattooed guy leave the table and talk with him - Things went cold after the roll, but he made like $2000 from the big better - the tattooed guy had his roll away bag with him - he was on his way out to the airport - nice parting gift!

Anyways, I'm gonna keep playing this 4&10 thing for the day and see what happens - even though I know there's no system for craps - I just like the small scale drama of this play :wink2:

Lovin every minute of this report. Craps has always been a game I've wanted to be a part of, and experienced the epic nature of it on our trip in June. Its addicting, regardless of the level you are playing. I probably spent 10 hours at the Craps table last trip, and thats a LOT for me!

Good Luck Natedogg, Nacho, and Cuz! Can't wait to read additional updates!

Glad at least somebody made money today...good going Nacho.

I woke up this morning expecting a great day as well, but alas it wasn't to be.

    July 3rd Tuesday

Got up around 7am, walked to the MGM craps pit....where the f is my table? They released it and there's now only one table closest to the annoying Craps slot machine that yells 7 every 5 seconds....

Lose a quick 50k betting not too heavy, table just couldn't get anything going.

They finally open up my private table, but then have an issue with my max...I tell them I had the same double limits for the last 10 years, look it up. They finally give the ok...but by this time the mood was all wrong.

I donk off another 130k betting the max since I was asking for it....

Decide to go to Baccarat and it started out ok....we were hitting a ton of ties and pairs, and I quickly get my original 500k from the morning marker up to 409k again....the dealer took 10k in tips from my bets for them!!!

Then it went to a cold cold shoe...I should have left. Donk Donk Donk....left down 320k for the day.

Then 2 hours later the host calls me and says they have to release my private Bac table....wtf....I just donked off 300k on that table in the morning!?!

Since they are remodeling there's not enough tables, and I guess bigger players are coming into the mansion....I'm only going to come back once a year now (ridiculous how they are treating me this trip compared to the Wynn)

Copying Shifter's rant about them in his trip report, wtf are they thinking nowadays? I told them to call up the Wynn and ask them how much theo I just did in 2 days over there. And over here I'm well over 100k in theo as well.

Anyways, I calmed down and told my host I will only be putting about 50k more at risk at the MGM. That's to either hit my stop loss of 500k when I will get 13% back + airfare, or win some back.

She's apologetic but I guess nothing she can do....She even mentioned the p word....they don't see me as profitable at the MGM anymore....lovely.

I will take my action elsewhere in the future....although I still have to stay here through the week to see the UFC and stuff....sheesh.

    -565k so far
theo well over 400k at Wynn and MGM
    Time : ridiculous
    mood : ok, but peeved

One additional note, somebody asks what I did, and it is commercial real estate investment. Boy there's going to be some anger in some board rooms this week because I definitely bring my emotions to work....:)

This is where you lost me.

How would it be possible for you to become unprofitable for them? If your theo for a trip is, let's just say, $100-200K (and at this rate, it's obviously going to be several times that given the length of your trip), for you to become unprofitable, you'd need to be getting comps/kickbacks/benefits/rebates that somehow overcome the theo. Even when factoring in the marginal cash value of some of your intangible benefits (things like a room at the Mansion, limo ride, etc.) - I am just snookered that such a thing could be possible.

Now, there could be an opportunity cost of your patronage - like your reserved table, your room at the Mansion, your UFC etc. - where they are unable to accommodate another player who might be MORE profitable for them. I could see that argument making sense. But that wouldn't be a case of you being unprofitable - it would just a case for them to say you are less profitable than other potential players. And I highly doubt that's the case, although I'd like to be proven wrong.

I feel like there must be some missing ingredient here, besides the comp structure you've described in the past. Is there any particular reason why the MGM would be so eager to dump you? First the decreased credit line and max bet, then the haggling at the table over limits, and then the host basically giving you the softshoe?

I don't mean to be presumptuous by asking this - but is there something you're doing (in terms of behavior, unreasonable requests) that would make you such a problem for them that they would decide to actively drive you away?

Congratulation! So glad to read that you got $1,000 profit from MGM!! Do you think that tattoo guy is a professionally trained shooter? $2,000 bonus is so sweet.

Maybe you can become Nate's sponsored shooter? It would be a win/win happy time.
