Question about labor day weekend comp

Hi, during my last trip to Vegas, I stayed at Aria for 2 nights, my bet average was about $340 per hand on Blackjack and a little Baccarat for about 12-16 hours at Aria, Bellagio, and Monte Carlos. A host comped me everything but the tips for that trip (total value was about $700 give or take) and I still have over $300 in the express comp. Anyway, so I called the hotline to book my upcoming trip on labor day weekend, 2 nights at B and 1 night at Aria, the customer rep called a host and he comped me all 3 nights but nothing else, no Fb no show tix because he said it will be a busy weekend. My question here is do you think this is a good deal for me or should I call back to ask for more?Also, l won't be playing as long and as high as last time because I am going with my wife this time so more time will be spent with her. What level should I play at to get most of our charges comped? We are planing to charge 2.5k on the room. Also, last time I played at HL and betting close to table min (spread between 100 and 800, when it was good. I was betting 2k a hand for a very short stretch). Most of other people were betting yellow and white every hand, so I feel pressured to play at HL, I will be playing at the main floor this time, so will I still be able to order expensive drinks such as Remmy or no? Would I be rated the same at main floor, considering one pit boss will look over 4 or more tables there. Thanks!

 

F&B comps shouldn't be based on whether the weekend will be busy. busy weekends should only mean you might not get the big suite that you want. rooms comp at the same value every night of the year, so which weekend doesn't affect that. sounds like he is trying to keep you undercomped to put pressure on you to play the same/bigger next trip in order to get your F&B picked up. and since you already know you won't be playing as long or probably as high, that's no good for you.

if you have 2.5k in room charges plus 3 nights in a standard room at about 600, that's just over 3k in total comps. that would require 7500 in theo assuming they use all the ECs you earn also. that can be acheived in many ways, but over 3 days at 4 hours per day you're looking at about 1000 avg bet. so way more than you played last trip.

as far as playing in the HL room, there's no reason you can't play at 100-800 even though others are betting canaries and flags. you definitely get way better CW service and ratings in the HL room because they pay closer to attention to you.

why are you staying at the B 2 nights and then moving to Aria for 1 night? why not just stay at the same place for 3 nights? you'll get better treatment from a host if you do that.

 

Hi Shifter, thanks for your fast reply and your insights as I always found them very useful. I will call them to change my reservation to B only so that gives me an excuse to call them to ask for more upfront. 1000 a hand is way too much for me... It's good to know though, I will try to tight our budget a bit.

 

I heard each host has a host budget for comps.Perhaps some one else is not using his whole budget?

 

Though your budget is above mine, I would agree that you need to focus on one property, for many reasons. Mostly, you have one host to deal with and one "play or theo" number.

Check with host at each place to see what they will do for you.

As to $2,500 in F/B to the room - that is some serious eating.
