no, he didn't know us, but seeing our Mlife cards and talking to him for a bit about our play i guess he knew we were for real. also, it's a player development thing that the casino lets him get away with to bring in new players. he knew we weren't ultra high rollers as far as the Penthouse suites went, but he was also trying to impress us with his hotel.

Good Lordy! Such beautiful rooms! I am heading to Cosmo in June read nothing but good reviews so far (Service aside). And I LOL'd at the winnings comment. I think that is my entire trip budget.

    Second Installment

so our second installment on this trip report starts with a trip on the dunes with SunBuggy. it's only a few minutes from the strip and since the 4 of us were experienced with riding motorcycles/ATVs, they let us skip the boring lecture on safety and blah blah blah. so a few minutes after we got there we were on our way to the dunes. we were able to score a private tour with just the 4 of us, which was nice because we didn't want to be slowed down by some soccer moms or something. the buggies do have a regulator in them that limits them to about 45 MPH, but you can get it going quicker downhill. we shredded it up for 90 minutes, which felt like 3 hours on your back and arms because there's very little padding on the inside. i feel like i left my back out there on the dunes. but it was really sweet, we did some major drifting and launching and had a great time.

when we got back all of us were so beat from the sun and the ride that we did very little before dinner, which was at Le Cirque. the food was amazing as always and so was the wine. when we finally got finished around 1130pm, i thought about heading up to bed, but decided to hit the tables with Rich and see if we could do some damage.

our gambling night started at the craps table where we did pretty well at first. then we hit a cold streak and decided to switch tables. bad move. we hardly won a single bet on that table and both walked away with very little of our buy-in left. Rich had never played Bacarrat before and that's my game, so we decided to head over and see what we could do.

with it being Chinese New Year, the entire HL room is nothing but Bacarrat tables and they've brought i extra tables everywhere they can squeeze them. they even brought in a second big table today, i'm sure at the request of one of the whales. this big table is where we decided to sit down and play as it was one of the only ones with open seats. we sat down at one end by ourselves and there was this couple sitting down at the other end. he was playing only bank and betting $2-4k/hand. i like to play a lot of bank too so i jumped on with him. this was also a bad move because he was on a terrible streak. not only that, he had bad mojo going because he was getting snippy with the dealers and complaining that i decided to start betting against him just because he couldn't win. after he dropped about $50k, he finally got up and left. we kept playing that shoe and didn't have too much luck at first. i kept losing every big bet i was trying to press and was down to $150 on my original $2k buy-in. i went all-in 3 times in a row and ended up pressing the $150 into $5k before the shoe ended. Rich was also down a few thousand and ended up making a nice comeback at the end of the shoe as well.

that's when the real fun began. once they finally got the new shoe shuffled (which Rich kept complaining to them that it was taking so long :)), they asked who was going to cut. i said i was going to cut and declared to everyone that although i normally cut banker shoes, this time i was going to cut a player shoe so we could win some commission free money. so we started the shoe betting player only and hit a little early, but it was kind of choppy. we ended up switching to banker for a while and losing. that's when i remembered what i had said earlier about cutting a banker shoe and i convinced Rich to start betting player only. at first we were betting fairly small - $500-1500/hand - and we started to put together a pretty nice player run. it ended up going 7 in a row before the banker won 2 in a row. we continued to stick with the player because it was running really strong and we started to press our bets. player started a new streak and just couldn't be beat. hand after hand the player turned over natural after natural. even the few times the player was behind, we pulled out the magic card and won. as player continued to win, we continued to press our bets. $2k, $2500, $3k, $4k, $5k we won hand after hand.

at the end, the second streak was 19 hands in a row for player and combined with the earlier 7 streak, it was 26 out of 28 hands. even the dealers commented that they had never seen a streak that long. Rich ended up turning his $5k buy-in into $32k. i ended up turning my $2k buy-in into $25k. we took pictures of the card and the chips because we wanted to remember this shoe forever. yes, those are $25k hot pink chips (a brighter pink color since the B was robbed of 1.5M last year.)

Absolutely! Those player runs or spats is what I live for. I would have been at least 10K a hand or better after a few. Easily worth $200k to me. Without a doubt. Next time as they say. Good Luck!

Sorry I have not been able to post or update yet, but had connectivity problems with the laptop that I just fixed. This one will be quick as I have an appointment to get to in a few minutes.

First night was great, I am glad that Shifter was able to update some. With my flight being late, really just dropped the bags in the room and changed before we hit up the Cosmo. The suites were out of control awesome, host told us that they were $500K and up credit line to get those. Oh well............

Had the good run at craps there, made about $9500 there, then when we got back to the B, Shifter hit the sack while I stayed up and played some more craps, making another nice score and ending up the first day up $19K.

Got to bed just after 5am, so yes Glen, I had barely made it to the room when you sent me that text.

Slept for 3.5 hours, then did the dune buggies, which was a great time except my buggy kept cutting out and sputtering, which was very frustrating.

Lost about $9k during the day at craps, so by the time we were ready to play after dinner, really needed a comeback.

First time playing Bacc, oh my god, pull my hair out, the game is so slooooow.

I am used to playing BJ one/one with the dealer, playing ultra fast to keep the action going. Not only is the game slow, it seems that the dealers running the game space out every now and then, and I have to ask them "what are we waiting for?" Then, heaven forbid they have to put in a new shoe. That is a 20+ minute waste of time. I told them they need to put in a BJ table or craps table behind the big table so the players have something to do while waiting for the new deck. The new deck shuffle in Bacc is a very leisurely exercise in frustration. I know that is how Bacc is played, everyone likes to take breaks, skip hands, etc., but I am not used to that.

As shifter said, end of shoe was great. Made $27K on that, + the $10K leftover from first night, so currently at + $37K. That new hot pink chip is getting locked up in the safe to lock in a win, and will play with the rest throughout the weekend.

Off to more fun and games........................
