    My Trip Report

Well, we're finally down to just 2 days and a few hours until 1 Southwest Airlines flight takes off from the snowy confines of Kansas City International Airport bound for Las Vegas. There will be four of us making the journey, and only two of us have been before. My sister and her husband will be making their first trip ever, while I'll be putting the 2nd stamp in to my Vegas passport. My mom is a Vegas vet, having been many times.

At this time, my mom and brother in law both think I'm crazy because of how hyped up I've been over the last 50+ days, but my sister understands completely. We both grew up listening to verbal "Trip Reports" from our parents and grandparents. I've had numerous souviners <sp?> brought back to me throughout the years, and I'm happy to say that I will be sporting a "vintage" hot pink "flip up" hat from Circus Circus (which my grandpa and grandma gave me about 14 years ago) when we check in to said hotel.

We'll be arriving around noon on the 29th, and will be leaving early on the 2nd.

The "to do" list that I have in my mind is fairly extensive, although I know there is no way we'll get to it all.

In no particular, here are some of the things we're planning.

*Shrimp Cocktails at the Golden Gate
*The Grain-Train at Le-whatever it is
    *Craps at Main St. Station
    *Sunspots at Plaza
*Hitting the El Cortez just for giggles
*Poker at either the Excalibur or Luxor (yes, my brother in law and I are relative rookies)
    *Majestic Lions slots at MGM
*Hitting some of the off-strip properties like the Rio, Hard Rock, and Palms, and maybe the Orleans
*Getting dropped off at the south end of the strip and walking our way back up to Circus Circus, hitting as many casinos as we can along the way.
    *Breakfast at the Peppermill
*Steak specials at Mr. Lucky's 24/7 and Ellis Island
*Riding the Big Shot and X-Scream at the Stratosphere .

I'm sure I'm leaving all sorts of things out, but the biggest to-do for all of us, is having fun. I'm sure that we won't have any problems with that.

    Hey Mutt...

Sounds like a great time--I don't know how you're going to survive these next two days.

We'll be looking forward to the trip report!

T-24 hours and counting. I thought sleep tonight would be in short supply, and that I'd get extra sleep last night. Needless to say, I slept nary a wink last night with visions of casinos dancing in my head. I'll probably be so warn out with all this anticipation, that I'll need a nap once we get there. Hopefully that Vegas energy spurt will kick in once the plane lands.

I'll see if I can't get a picture of me in the hat to post, not to mention pictures of many other things.

Billy, keep an eye out for 4 people downtown causing a ruckus. We'll probably spend most of our time in the Golden Gate or MSS when we're down there. I'll be the one trying to keep the other three drunkards in line. :)

I'll keep an eye out for you and your hat. We will be spending most of the Sunday on the strip. We are leaning towards the Superbowl party at the Stardust, but will be back dt later that night.

We'll more than likely be spending the game somewhere on the Strip as well. The rest of the time though, I imagine we'll put in downtown.

    Touché Rugby, Touché.

I may be a KC Chiefs fan, but I'm not stupid. There was no way I was touching KC at 2-1. :D

Seriously though, I was holding out hope that the Chiefs could do something special, even though it looked bad for us. I just can't sit around though, and listen to the other fans pump up their team without sounding the Chiefs Horn.

I'm liking the Royals at 50-1 to win the W.S. next year and 25-1 to win the AL though. :D

You have fun there, we are heading out for Nascar and I am getting a little anxious too. One suggestion for you guys, go up the Eifle Tower at night and watch the fountains at the Bellagio, it is absolutely amazing, and the view is awesome.
