Don't know about the newly renovated rooms, but the old rooms did not have coffee makers, though some had refrigerators.
@Michael Smith I was looking on the website and I saw refrigerators listed, but it didn't show coffee makers. A remodeled suite without a coffee maker? Just can't be. I don't function in a room without my own coffee. Don't have room in my bag this trip to bring one either.
Yeah, I just went and watched a couple video reviews of the rooms and saw there weren't any. That's a very bad thing.
Yep, I stay at the Wynn pretty often and they don't have coffee makers. It sucks. I usually scramble down and head north to the Peppermill when I stay at the Wynn. Or maybe get a $10 coffee at the café. Anyway, I think there must be a coffee place at the New Rio or I suggest you find room for a small coffee maker. My 80+ year old sister insists on bringing a machine when we go in November.
I am trying to survive this next trip with an underseat carryon...period. It is packed so tight that now I'm concerned about carrying it. I do have an immersion heater, but I don't have room for a real coffee mug, which makes that difficult. Besides, very few instant coffees are that good. This is my first trip on Avelo and I wanted to see if I could get away without an extra $40 for a carryon. I always bring so much crap I don't need and thought this would be a good test. When I get up in the morning I want coffee in five minutes while I'm sitting in bed. I'm not getting dressed to go anywhere and get coffee. Room service? Nyet.
I'm not sure if I dreamed this or read it here somewhere, but there was talk of crappy coffee in paper cups with no lids.
They must of forgotten about that lady that burned herself in the McDonald drive thru with the coffee
Kevin said he would check on that. Don't think anyone has mentioned it being an issue since then. https://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/index.php?posts/2709667/
Ok, so I'm double booked one night at Gold Coast. I was planning on walking over and checking in at Gold Coast, but staying the night at Rio. You suppose they'd notice if I took the coffee maker over to Rio, just for the night? I'd bring it back, I swear.
If you want to take the time, you can hop on the 203 bus and get off near Sam's Town where there's a mega-Walmart. Pick up a coffee machine for $12 and a pound of good coffee (Starbucks, if you like) for about $10. Bring coffee filters from home and before you go to bed ask the cocktail waitress/waiter for a glass of milk which you bring up to the room. That's what I used to do. Now I gamble so much I have more comps than I know what to do with so $10 coffee doesn't bother me.
Oh geez @smerrian I'm way to lazy to do that. Does Gold Coast have real coffee cups? Maybe I'll wander over and borrow one (I SWEAR, I'll take it back). Then I can get some Starbucks Caffe Verona instant if they make it, which might not taste too much like crap, and use the immersion heater. A person on vacation should not have to do this much work.
They regular rooms USED to have Keurigs. Those were gotten rid of when they scrapped the mini bar which would sell you a $6 pack of 3 K cups. That said, the LARGER suites DID have coffee makers as late as 2019. I had one when I stayed in one of the super suites on Ipanema 20.
I may or may not know a guy who after tucking in his elderly aunt at the Gold Coast would take the coffee maker to the Rio to make his coffee then later in the morning when he went to get her day started took it back Pre eldo diamond and above could get one sent to the room even after the strip properties stopped doing it Since this is such a hot button issue I wonder if @Rio_Chief_Gaming_Officer considered making it a tier benefit
