I made a reservation at Golden Steer through OpenTable for 7/16/24 last week. I also recommend the Porterhouse @ Cleaver.

I’d be very tempted to take the 4:30 reservation, sleep in, and call it brunch. You would even have time for an after dinner nap and still be able to have a whole night in the casino. :D

Believe me, I’m also not too keen to be walking around that part of town after 9:00 pm or so… :poke:

Strip House at PH feels very "old school". All the pics of the old stars that used to eat there, all the
red vinyl sort of like an old saloon, and exceptional service.

Another place that is very "old school" is not exactly a Steakhouse proper, but they have excellent steaks -
the Italian American Social Club. Love it when they have a nice little "Combo" entertaining you while you eat and
again, all the pictures and feel of an old run mob place.

Completely agree, most underrated Steakhouse on the strip. Also the bar is FANTASTIC for solo diners. Lets not even talk about the 13 layer (or was it 11?) chocolate cake....

I don't know how "old school' it can be considered, but Gallagher's at NYNY has been there since 1997 and IMHO is pound for pound one of the best steakhouses in town. Being open to the casino, it's ambiance can be sketchy but the filet mignon is world class.

The food is very good, but it's NOTHING like the original in Manhattan! (Been to both within the last 5 years.)

My sister has been to the one in Vegas and she told me it's average at best.
