Adjust the AC Check the view Check out the bathroom Unpack everything Lie down and rest at least or take a nap depending on the time. Set the safe Plan the rest of the first day. Have a long talk with myself about my expectations for the trip!
For stays longer than 5 days. 1) hunt down the room cleaner cart and get extra soap, shampoos, towels, etc. 2) go to CVS/Walgreens to get a can of nuts, jerky, yogurt, bananas, foot spray (toenail fungus is no joke). Setup snack packs. Some of my "gaming" sessions can hit in the 14-20 hrs range. 3) put bed bug traps under the mattress. If I see one, the cloths I bring back don't enter my house. Regardless, the safe cloths I bring back gets staged in the garage then gets put into the washer.
- enjoy the view for a moment - unpack, hop on the bed, make a immediate mess of the table (sorting true all casino passes, money, sigs, vouchers etc) - mix a beautiful first drink - triplecheck everything is in my pockets for a first casino visit (hate walking back to the room) - buffallooooo
I'm really enjoying this thread. I've noted a couple of things that I'm going to start doing when I get to the hotel.
Pretty much do the same as most things listed here. But I’ve got into the habit of bringing a folded up gallon freezer bag in my cargo shorts pocket and grab ice on the way to the room. Luggage goes to the Bellman upon arrival but I keep my backpack with the libations in it. Make a drink and relax for a bit after the drive. it used to be let’s get down to the casino and start the party, nowadays, we like to relax a bit, the casino isn’t going anywhere
This is really smart actually! Personally I actually use those freezer bags as a toiletries bag. Just use a fresh one every trip so it’s nice and clean. Plus its size and shape are adjustable… and it’s see-through if security wants to have a peek. I’ve always considered carrying a couple extra fresh bags for whatever purpose, and this is a great reason to!
BTW @NotFromConcentrate, don’t think I have not forgotten about the drink you owe me from calling your RF in Laughlin. lol
nice idea. I know a lot of people enjoy room drinking in Vegas. I prefer to have that first drink and most others on the floor, at the table, at the lounge etc. usually only drinks in room are bottles of water! Sipping my first drink at Paris Central, Vista, etc watching the action gets me in the mood!
