    My Trip Report

That's the call I received about midnight last Wednesday from my wheelchair friend. And, he wasn't joking. Needless to say, I immediately quit my game of BJ at the MGM and headed up to our room to see what the problem was.
    A little background info first:
Once a year, I take a friend of mine who is confined to a wheelchair on a Vegas trip. One of his objectives is to find female companionship.
Last year, it was spending $1,300 at the Olympic Gardens; the year before, calling one of the numbers off a porn slapper's card. In both cases, there was some regret in not spending money wisely.
This year, his goal was to stay out of strip clubs and avoid services advertising girls delivered to your room.
All was fine the first two days of our trip.
On Wednesday, we took in the Bobbie Slayton show at Hooters and then went next door to the Trop to check out the lounge band (that someone on this board had touted). Near the entrance to the lounge were a couple of girls trolling for (paid) action.
My friend noticed them and after a few minutes of thought, decided to pursue it. He only wanted one of them, but both insisted on accompanying him back to our room.
He negotiated a price of $200 apiece. I'm not sure what it entailed, but he said it was a good deal for what he would be getting.
A few minuted later, he was up in our room at the MGM with them. He asked me to take $400 out of his money pouch to pay them. I did and then put his money bag inside our closet.
Then I left the room. It was about half hour later I get his distress call.
"Get up here right away. We've got a problem. We were robbed."
Some of you more seasoned veterans are probably already shaking your heads, saying, 'this doesn't surprise me' or 'you guys might as well have had I'M AN IDIOT stamped on your foreheads'.
Yes, the girls robbed my friend of $770. A lot of mistakes were made prior to me leaving the room and more afterwards.
The first thing they did upon entering the room was turn the radio up. Then they took my friend into the bathroom and turned the shower on, with the guise of the two girls showering together.
Instead, one of them did the sexual act with my friend while the other went back through the room and rifled through our belongings, looking for cash/valuables.
With the radio and shower going, he couldn't hear anything going on in, plus he was occupied.
After the sexual act was consummated, they quickly cleaned up and left. He had a sinking suspicion was something was afoot and immediately checked his money supply.
That's when I got the call.

    Let's list the mistakes made:
    1. Picking up girls "off the street" versus going through a more reputable souce.
    2. Taking two girls back to room instead of one. This was a tag-team act with one being used a diversion while the other did the stealing.
    3. Letting the girls see where his had his money at. Bear in mind, the room had a safe, but we didn't bother to use it.
    4. Letting the girls take my friend into a room away from his money.
    5. Letting the girls turn the shower on and the radio volume up as a distraction.

I'm sure there were probably more, but these were a few we reviewed in our head after the damage was done.
Ironically, my friend felt so depressed about the incident, he went to the Olympic Gardens to get some consolation from his stripper friend the next morning. That did make him feel better, but a cost him more money, as well.
There is somewhat of a happy ending to this story. On Saturday, the day before we went home, he won $700 playing BJ at the Wynn outdoor tables, nearly making all of his losses back.
As terrible as he felt getting robbed, the BJ session at the Wynn was one of the finest moments of his life.

Glad to hear that your story had a "happy" ending.

Sucks about the chicks taking you for all your worth, but in the end, it is def. a lesson to be learned. Next time, you two will know better :)

Good karma there at the end, Chef, that's all that matters.... Plus, your friend still had a good time, right?

If your friend keeps doing this on your annual jaunts, he will be an expert in another 5 or 10 years. :)

Sorry we missed each other at PH!

Well, it did have a happy ending with your friend going on a nice winning streak at the Wynn. Sometimes when you let your little head do your thinking bad things happen(been there, done that, got the t-shirt and the sign). Tell your friend not to feel too bad he's not the first to be taken like that and definetly won't be the last. He comes away with a lesson and a story plus a great BJ story.

"the BJ session at the Wynn was one of the finest moments of his life" as opposed to the BJ session at the MGM I guess :wink2:!

Ironic indeed, and a little funny.

Still, you're a legendary wingman for getting him to Vegas every year and letting him do his thing, whatever it is.

one of my friends got rolled by a lady of the night in MGM...at one of those video poker bars

too trashed to care that she cashed out his $100+ while he was distracted I guess

then the next morning on the elevator ride down to the buffet, we rehashed the story, a lady overheard us and exclaimed "You got rolled? What a great Vegas story!!!"

    a crazy town indeed.

That $770 sounds like a good deal compared to the $1300 he spent last year. And it's not like he didn't get any action for the money. Maybe we should recognize him as the real "buffetologist".

I wouldn't go as far as legendary, since he broke rule #1 "Never leave your wingman"
I do think that its a great thing that chef does for his friend and did love the t-shirt he wore last year.

Next time rent a car and take him to the Chicken Ranch in Pahrump. Its legal, clean and safe. No chance of getting rolled there.

    At 200 for two, thats 400.00 ...
You don't get rates like that from that location.
You are now going to spending even more money trying to track them down whereas if you used a service they would take care of all discipline problems.

What did you expect was going to happen??

That sucks he got rolled. It's so common and there's nothing you can do about it. It might not be as convenient, but it's really worth making the trip to Pahrump. It'd be nice if Clark County would legalize prostitution, but it's highly unlikely that it would ever pass.

Your friend must of had big expectations of himself taking 2 women back to the room. Whether you're trolling for hookers or not always use the safe when one's available in the room. If not put your money downstairs as some casinos have safety deposit boxes you can rent.

Holy crap... that sucks. Sorry for you guys, but happy it wasn't a total bummer/loss in the end.

And I guess the stories are all true and the Trop has become a total de-militarized zone in regards to (bad) hookers and people out to do bad.

But, it may be a sign to figure out a ride and go to a "proper" place where your friend is sure to get the proper run for his paid money.

With the great win at the end I hope that the majority of the trip was positive for the both of you. Did you friend wear the "nipple" T-shirt again this year? That has got to be one of the best t-shirts I ever saw! Forget Mardi Gras beads, I would flash for your friend if he had that t-shirt on.
