I went to Valley Forge Casino yesterday to play a little bartop Bonus Poker Deluxe and catch the early games. Decent beer selection with several local craft brews. Upon leaving, I swiped my card and received this offer: $20 towards Valet Parking, good for that day only.

I noticed other guests were swiping their cards upon entry to the casino, and like me, they already parked and walked in. They were equally disappointed. Forgot to add, valet parking is $25. I used to get some Free Play and $10 food vouchers in the past, but that all dried up.

I was speaking to a pit boss and he said he has heard from several guests about this silly parking voucher. He also mentioned that he had worked at several casinos in AC which are closer to home, but at Valley Forge, the pay is better despite an hour + commute.

    I probably won't go back.

I can top you on my Boyd offer in Vegas. After 25 years of play at MSS/Cal and getting a suite, Gold Card and limo, my host told me she could only offer me a Vacations Hawaii coupon book on our next trip. I thanked her for everything she had done in the past and so this Friday it's Downtown Grand and Boyd can kiss my behind.
    Just so insulting!
btw, Curt at DTG has been very accommodating!

@Joe, good to see that you are heading back!

I'm a flea and I was probably overcomped in the past. The food voucher was nice as I could get a couple slices of pizza or a sandwich, but the free play was more appreciated. Personally, I would have felt better not getting this worthless voucher it was like getting a hearty "eff you". I can literally park 100 yards from the front door of this place. With that said, Howard Jay Klein wrote a favorable piece regarding Boyd in Seeking Alpha.

I think it was Jean Scott who wrote that you don't marry a casino.

And as Michael Corleone said: "It's not personal, it's strictly business."

    Best of luck to you.

    This piece?

As an improving businessperson, I appreciate when companies/entities much larger than mine watch their P 'n L/bottom line, but I (selfishly?) hope that when the mild-moderate recession that I think is coming comes (we pumped a lot of 'artificial' money into circulation during the onset/peak of COVID), casino companies that really compromised the consumer experience get hurt a bit (and reverse some short sighted comp policies).

I bailed on Boyd after about 15 years for similar treatment. A couple months ago they showed I had two mid-week nights comped. Two days later, they removed them!

No way I'd go to Boyd for the Hawaii coupon book at your level of play. I have no idea what Boyd is doing.

They are so erratic lately. We went in April. More coin in than I've ever had on a trip. They cut my offers by about 1/3 across the board. Since they've started going back up. Maybe by my next trip they will be back to where they were at least this past trip. But if I went more often I'd be very upset. Always options available to make up the difference they are only hurting themselves by being cheap and honestly i only care about free rooms the other stuff is just icing. But when I go from 4 comps nights to 2 then back up to 3 I am a little hesitant to book again. We definitely will be branching out some.

I think Boyd hates all of their players, local and non-local.
My offers are all over the place, FP goes up and down, food credit goes up and down.
The most important thing for me is always comped room nights, which I still get, but overall the offers are insulting.
When I don't get much of a food credit, that forces me to go off property to eat (and gamble) because I'm not going to pay out of pocket for any of their bland food offerings. It is very short-sighted on their part.
    I will never understand it.

I have switched to Downtown Grand when staying on Freemont. Curt has been accommodating.

    I hear it getting worse.
However, my needs are minimal. As long as I continue to get comped rooms, some food comp, and FP, I am okay with that.

I just dont play/lose enough to frequent Strip places, plus deal with the mess.

My offers have been going down also, but on my last trip I was able to get a majority of the room cost taken off.
Checked for offers for January and disappointed since limited comp nights and having to pay for weekend nights. Gonna try to seed offers from other properties in January.

My recent emails to Curt went unanswered. Found through his LinkedIn that he is no longer there. Do you know if they have a new host?

My last email from Curt was 10/26. When my November offer came out I contacted the casino host voicemail and a different person handled my request.

FWIW, I stayed at GC again, over Halloween.
Room, w/shower (no tub for me!) 3 doors from elevator, and a scooter comped by Steffi Chen.

I used a bit more over my $150 food comp, but Steffi comped it all.
    I also got 100 FP.

the VP was not so good this trip, so I was in and out, playing some slots.

Hit a $4,362 jackpot on Buffalo Wheel.

I will be staying again, Dec 2-6.
    Last trip of 2023!

Well crap, wanting to upload winning photo, but laptop in rebooting, and not sure how to edit above and add.

Catzilla, if you make it, find me at GC before I leave for downtown, Mon the 4th, for some play. Msg me.
