How is Charter House in the Golden Nugget? Also I believe it’s Magnolias at the 4 Queens.

I really like Chart House, and have had several good meals there.

Never eaten at Magnolias, but I know many here will have :)

Chart House is terrific. I have eaten there twice and love the atmosphere. The baked seabass was lifechanging.

Magnolia's is a solid place to eat a meal for a good price. The service is sometimes lacking, but that's primarily because it is generally very busy. The food is solid with large portions. If you have a Las Vegas Advisor coupon book, you can get a Buy 1 Get 1 meal there which makes it a tremendous value.

Eaten at the Chart House several times. They usually have a decent happy hour and the seafood has been well prepared. Magnolia's...eh... mediocre diner food, fine for breakfast. It's the service there that is the problem. Eggs and toast should not take forever!

I have been very, very disappointed in the quality of food downtown. Magnolia's is relatively cheap and good, and a great use of comp dollars. I'm tempted to visit a grocery store and arrive with my own horseradish sauce for the prime rib, as I don't love theirs and they are very stingy with it.

Chart House is outstanding. I loved my dinner there, and I loved the happy hour with discounted appetizers. You do need to arrive early for the happy hour, as the allotted space fills up.

Normally we only eat breakfast there, and occasionally do some take out. Service is slow. They usually have one section closed due to short staffing. Portions are large. Price is reasonable for a casino setting.

Magnolia's is pretty much the only restaurant I eat at downtown. There is a 2-for-1 coupon on the ACG App... see this thread for details. They are pretty generous with those coupons - birthdays, etc. But valid only on menu items, not specials.

Chart House is excellent. Highly recommend. We always have a meal there & try to make HH for the 1/2 price mojitos, and more than reasonable discounted small plates.

We have only had breakfast a few times at Magnolia’s, it’s decent but there are 3 others I would go to first 2 are a bit of a walk MTO & Eat, the 3rd is Claim Jumper at GN they all have a great breakfast!
    Enjoy your trip!!

Never ate at Magnolias, but it is mentioned here so many times (in trip reports mostly), how does it compare to for example Siegels (I like it)? Somehow I can't put a "have to try it" or "people eat there because cheap and filling" on that place...

I would say that Siegels and Magnolia's are pretty comparable. Both tend to have delays in service based on staffing or being busy, but both are also a decent meal at a good price.

If you're 55+ and have a 4 Queens slot card, you can get a 10% discount at Magnolias (It was 20% until 4Q and Binions merged their slot clubs last week - everyone needs to get a new card). 2 for 1 entree in your birthday month.

I ate at Seigels for breakfast once and it was awful. However their matzo ball soup is delicious. Also I'm generally opposed to naming restaurants after psychopathic serial murderers.

Magnolias is a traditional coffee shop (the old definition) which I love and is a nearly extinct species of restaurant. Nothing is the best you have ever tasted but it's a satisfying meal and a good price, served to you by a professional waitperson.

For these reasons I prefer Magnolias.

As many mentioned, the Chart House has good seafood. That said, even though it is part of the Landrys chain, it is not cheap.

I like Magnolias for breakfast and great value for Prime Rib special for after 4:00pm. Upgrade for side of Gumbo, you will thank me later.

Magnolia's prime rib with gumbo is probably the best $25ish dinner you can have downtown IMO.
