I went to the cosmo in may and was gold. After the trip, I hit platinum. The host took everything off my bill except gratuity as expected. I’m going again next week and the host is providing rooms for 3 nights. Are those rooms coming out of my potential future comp or are those taken from night credits. In other words, does it make sense to get a room on my own if cheaper than having them take out of my potential comps? TIA !

I don’t really understand your question. Why wouldn’t you want your room comped? It sounds like you played enough to get food comped as well last time, so wouldn’t that be your expectation moving forward as well?

It seems like a regular comp; they are not taking your platinum nights. Remember you have a comp bucket that your comps come out of (based on Theo)--- a lower room rate does not necessarily mean you're getting slighted, you might have more room for other comps (freeplay, F&B, backend comps) when the casino rate that the players club "pays" the hotel is lower.

They won't take your Platinum nights unless you specify that is what you desire. Hope you used your Gold Tier nights.

Are you seeing offers by email, in your account online?

If your host can't comp all your room charges ask them if they can use your Platinum comp nights instead of offer they had coded. I've had the same host for a long time and one trip she couldn't comp my entire bill due to some very pricey meals with a bigger group, so she told me she used my Platinum nights in order to comp everything off my bill which I had no problem.

OK...I am new to cosmo. I am only Velvet. But I got an email offer of 3 free nights and $75 play which I took. They even comped an upgrade to Fountain View Terrace Studio and comped my resort fees. This seems a lot more than a typical "velvet"

Will be coming late July. Pretty sure I will at least make the Sterling by the time I leave. . But the Sterling benefits seem less than what I already got.

Not looking a gift horse in the mouth, but just trying to set expectations.

The comps, the offers, are based on play, not Identity status.

Identity is about loyalty, and comes with some extra benefits, perks. But you can walk in, play big and get nice offers before advancing through the tiers

I’m finding things a bit odd. For years I have been Sterling, other than one year where I did a match from V/P for gold. I used to always get email offers for 2 free nights, but then they stopped sending them, though I could usually get 2 nights by calling.

First stay after Covid I called and was given 3 nights, which I was pleased about (Oct 21). I gave them more (not hugely more), play than normal, and asked once again to have my email reinstituted. Still no emails!

April stay only able to use my 1 sterling night, so just stayed for 2 nights using casino rate for the other, but still played at my usual rate. Asked again about email. Still nothing.

So, I was going to book 2 nights for coming Sept., a Sun for $400 plus resort fee (life is beautiful is on, so everything is ridiculous high- that was my casino rate, and Mon for a reasonable $150. Not super happy with that, but I have to stay there even if I have to pay. However, I was waiting to see if rates went down for that Sun.

To make a long story short- I just received an offer in the mail for 3 nights, no resort fee.

Happy, but . Was able to use it for that Sunday with an upgrade to fountain view for $20.

I am esp. puzzled since mgm has taken over, and by most speculation things are going to get tighter.

The Sterling room benefit is in addition to room offers. If you booked that offer for 3 nights in a row, you can use the Sterling room benefit to tack on to the beginning or end of that stay.
It may be an issue with their emails getting blocked on your end for some reason. I'd look at setting up another email and giving that to them.

I have a offer for 4 nights and $200 food and cocktail credit, another few for various credits under the normal promotions. Under the platinum promotions, I see a couple for comp nights, a $250 credit, and a couple of companion nights.

I didn’t use my gold nights but I think the host might have for my last stay? I had F&B for like $1,300 and only paid for gratuity. I didn’t pay for anything else.

Is it appropriate to ask the host what my limit is in terms of comps?

Tighter in what sense? I don’t know much about MGM so wondering what they might cut back at Cosmo in the future.

I doubt that the offer calendar, algorithm, has been affected by MGM yet. First things will probably internal rates used in applying comps. We're already hearing minimal scuttlebutt from some experienced players that comps are a bit tighter.

Do you check your account online? I went through a period when I got offers on my online account, but no emails. Also, check everywhere to see that you've toggled any checkbooks related to communications.

Thinking they may start treating Cosmo like their top tier property, so maybe will only comp city rooms to the lower end players, such as myself. One thing I am really worried about is the drink service suffering- no specialty drinks chomped, that sort of thing.

I actually like the ticket system at the bar, because I don’t drink that fast, so I get extra tix, and ask for better pours.

Retriggerme. Haha, I don’t even know what toggling checkbooks means.

I’m a Vegas noob in a lot of ways. What does this mean? I get drinks all the time from at the tables. What are these tickets and how do they work? Tia.

To answer a few of your questions @miteynax Once you hit Platinum you lose your gold benefits and you will now have Platinum benefits which are 2 Comp nights, 2 Companion nights and a $250 resort credit plus airport transportation to and from (these are separate from offers and are an earned benefit therefore they don't have a comp value/ don't count toward backend comps etc)

Second question you had was drink tickets and these come from Video Poker play at bars like Chandy, Sportsbook, Clique where you don't get unlimited comp drinks like on the casino floor but they pop out of your machine for a certain amount of coin through.

*Make sure you take advantage of the airport transportation and the other Platinum perks, I didn't list them all just the important ones to myself.

I’ve been waiting all year for an offer and I’m still waiting
I’ve emailed my bloody useless hostess from 4 different email accounts and she’s refusing to respond . I’ve emailed Identity directly and they have responded so I know there’s nothing wrong with my emails.
I’m 40 days out and more that just a little pissed off. I’ve been getting 3 night comps for years twice a year sometimes so can’t understand why I’m getting bupkas this year.
As a last resort I might call her directly but I’m guessing it won’t get me the answers I’m looking for if she’ll even take my call.
ive no idea what I’ve done or even not done for her to blank me but I’ll b taking her to task when I get there. It’s just bloody RUDE not to mention unprofessional to just not respond at all. I don’t get it :poke:
