The prices for Southwest flights are insane for that weekend through Tuesday while the rest of October is perfectly normal, even Columbus Day weekend. Obviously something huge is on the schedule, but I just don't have any idea what. I'm curious what I'll be running into out there. Fortunately I already booked my flights, hotel, and car long ago for much less, so I dodged that bullet.

    Anyone have any insight?

We looked at Oct 11-16 and Oct 15-20 and the first week had cheaper hotels (slightly) and airfare (again, just slightly) but it was enough of a savings we picked the earlier timing. (As noted, we're going to the Buffett concert on 10/15 - the 10/8 show didn't have as many decent tickets available)

Enjoy-hopefully they will have the usual street party outside Flamingo all afternoon

Used to be much better-years ago when MGM still had the amusement park out back that was set up for a huge pre-show party

I'm not looking forward to being in a stadium of 17000 people - I will not be attending the pre-shows anywhere. Been there, done that when I was young & stupid. I really hate crowds - worse than ever now. :headbang:
