Not sure how many on this forum follow You Can Bet on That, but there was some rather sudden news that Dr. Mike is moving to Minnesota this week. There were a few hints dropped during their latest episode related to a chemo treatment, but very sad to see the duo parting ways after several decades of going to the casino together in the San Diego area and over ten years of doing their podcast. Mark mentioned they plan to continue the podcast with virtual calls.

Even if you're not familiar with their podcast, they had a great story from what might be their final craps session together. The story starts at the 50:00 mark. Mark and Dr. Mike are both down pretty big for the trip. Mark got knocked out of his WSOP event, and they are casino hopping on the strip on their last night in Vegas:

I saw some cryptic tweets about that-- I hope everything goes well for him! I was only a casual listener but I always enjoyed their show.

Dr. Mike doesn't have cancer. He's taking a low dose chemotherapy drug to allow the steroids to work better. I can't remember which disease he has but it is self limiting over a couple of years.

Still a bummer that they're moving. I feel like the podcast has declined over the last year. They're fun stories are few and far between. The show is mostly listener calls at this point. Living half way across the country won't improve it.

OTOH, Dr. Mike will be 3 hours by car from my house (and there just happens to be a casino with $10 craps right between us!). I told Mark in a PM that I'd take care of Dr. Mike.

I tried to give this podcast a chance but it was just all over the place. There's no structure or coherence to what they talk about. The hosts just rambled on about their personal lives (who cares) and then addressed random questions from people which they don't even answer that well. I found it to be a very boring and poorly done podcast. I realize it's fairly popular with Vegas fans for some reason, but man, I absolutely can not get into it. :(

I know what you mean, I think every Vegas podcast I listen to is/was an acquired taste.

“You Can Bet in That” is my favorite podcast. The interaction between Mark and Dr Mike is very entertaining. Also it is craps focused when other podcasts aren’t. I wonder if it will have that same magic when Dr Mike moves to The Gopher State.

Definitely one of my favorite podcast due to focusing on craps.
Mark has appeared on other podcasts and wonder if he may move on....eventually.

I sorta agree; they definitely used to have more “energy” in the show…i think also their kids are finally grown so maybe they decided it was time to move…
