I reserved three comp nights for an upcoming visit. When I received my confirmation I saw that I was charged over $140. Is the Orleans now charging resort fees and taxes on comped rooms? If so are all the Boyd properties doing this now?

I'm not familiar with the way Orleans handles comped room or resort fees, but the resort fees at Orleans are just below $40 per night, so 3 nights should be less $120 and not over $140. It almost sounds like you got charged a room rate for a night or more.

They never use to charge resort fees on a comped room, but that was before their slot club changed, so they might now. Just give them a call, they have been helpful in the past.

I just booked a mocked comp night next week----the bill shows $0 and below it says

"Total does not include nightly resort fee of $39.54 p/night (resort fee tax included). Final amount will be charged at check-in. Resort fee does not apply to COMP nights."

I've never been charged a resort fee on a comped night at Boyd. My question is what does the Orleans or Gold Coast offer, up and beyond, that warrants a resort fee? Rhetorical question....

Thanks everyone. I called the Orleans and they told me that although it appears on my confirmation,
they will not charge the resort fee and taxes.

Yep, way back when the resort fee first started rearing its ugly head, and Gold Coast charged us like 9 bucks-I said to the wife "doesn't a place first have to be a resort to charge a resort fee"

That's good that they kept that in place after blowing up the slot club for those of us who play VP.

Have never been charged a Resort Fee at any Boyd Property I have stayed at, that includes MSS, The Cal, Orleans, and Gold Coast, on a COMP room.

i was there on a four night comp in December. No resort fees have ever been charged on comped nights in my many years of staying there, including a month ago.
