    My Trip Report

    Hi All

Thought I would post my first trip report. I appologize for the lack of pictures, as I am just not a big picture guy. I will try to post a few scenic ones.

A few short week ago, I told my lovely wife that I needed a few days away and I was going to take those days away in Vegas! She was welcome to come with me, but I was going. After thinking about it, she finally decided that she could also use some days away. So we ensured we had a baby sitter, set-up boarding for the puppy and booked our trip!

We flew from JFK to LAS, non-stop on Delta, leaving at 8:00 AM on 11/16. So early to leave from NYC that early in the morning, but worth it to get to Vegas by 11:00.

As some of you might have read, originally we were going to stay at Aria. And while I am sure it would have been fine, I ended up switching last minute to a one bedroom with a balcony at Cosmo. What a great choice that was! And I didnt tell my wife, so she was super surprised and happy when we arrived

    On to day 1

    Day 1

The night before we confirmed our car to the airport for the 5:30 AM pick-up. Our driver said he could not make it and we had instead booked for 12/16 instead of 11/16! Ooops, totally our mistake. So instead we took an Uber and as I stressed out as to whether the Uber was going to arrive as listed in the App, I saw it pulling down the street, although 5 mins late. Had an uneventful ride to the airport, no traffic, and arrived by 6:30 for an 8:00 flight. Perfect timing.

Got through security in literally 5 mins, or maybe less, no line at all at TSA Pre. Took me awhile to get TSA Pre, not sure what took so long. Checked out my food options and got an egg sandwich from Shake Shack and Ice Coffee from Peet's coffee. Both were great, won big on airport breakfest!

Flight was nice and uneventful, landed a bit early. Large plane, 767, with double aisle and 2 seats on the side. Great for my wife and I. Watched my usual Vegas Vacation and some episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm. I am certain I was laughing outloud. Opps!

After landing, hopped in the Uber to the hotel and was able to check in at Cosmo, at around noon, for no extra charge. Had 53rd floor facing South. Not fountain view, but I love watching the planes take off and land at the airport!

Wife and I grabbed some lunch in Cosmo. I had the Sancho Grilled Cheese and Lardo and she had fish tacos from China Poblano. Ate back in the room on the balcony, it was amazing. Had drinks too of course, myself a Lagunitas and she a margaritta.

After lunch, headed to the pool. Had some drinks there, did a bit of work, enjoyed the hot tub, great afternoon. At 4:30 the sun goes behind a building, so started to get a bit chilly for the pool. So up to the room we went.

    More to follow.....

    Day 1 continued

We both got ready to go out. Plan for the night was to go down to Resorts World and make our way back. I sat on the terrace for a bit, drinking some Eagle Rare and smoking a cigar. Like could certainly be a lot worse!

Once we changed, off to Resorts World we went. Review is as follows: Place is very nice, and VERY large. It was totally fine, but no real reason to go back. Had some of the street food, contrary to other reviews I have read, we both enjoyed the food and didn’t find it to be crazy expensive, especially for Vegas. We then had a drink at Gatsby’s, which was good but was quite pricey for Vegas.

We then made our way back to Cosmo, stopping along the way to look at the sights. Walk took awhile, but we were pretty drunk and had a fun time.

After we got back, we realized we were still hungry, so had the Duck Paitan Ramen (amazing) and Pork Belly Buns (not bad) at Momofuku. We were then stuffed, very tired, etc. So off to sleep we went!
