We have reservations in the Cherokee tower starting Monday Oct 4th. I'm assuming that the opening is on schedule for the 1st. The new tower has its own check-in, right? It would be a real trek from the existing check-in.

We were regulars in Cherokee for a number of years but we moved 4 hours further away and haven't been since Feb 2020. We're much closer to New Orleans and Biloxi now. Still this will probably be our last trip to anywhere as diamond plus (and maybe even diamond). Is the Laurel Lounge open for drinks? Does the new Wicked Weed brewpub accept reward credits? I know the buffet has closed. Any other changes we need to know about? I already know about the non-smoking and the mask requirement, and I'm actually very happy about both.

    Thanks, Deb

LL does still have half price drinks, no food. Poker room is now downstairs. Not sure about check in but I will be there Saturday.

I am 110% sure they have their own checkin. It has to be an easy half mile from one to the other - via the casino.

Here now. Checked in Sunday. Beautiful addition, very nice rooms. I feel like it's easier to get to the casino than the older towers. Very close to the poker room and sportsbook/bar. Yes it has it's own lobby, valet and parking garage. Guy Fieri's new restaurant is also in this tower.

That said, they are dealing with some startup issues. Arrived at 1:30 Sunday, didn't get in room till 6:30. They said the housekeeping and front desk systems weren't coordinated so they couldn't tell which rooms were serviced.

Also, no working ice machines for guests in the entire tower. Hopefully these things get sorted out soon. Employees very nice and helpful.

I am going to give it a few weeks and let them work out the kinks. I'm sure it will be busy with the leaves changing color the next few weeks.

Thanks for sharing experiences thus far. Was just eyeing a potential November midweek work/play trip and was thinking of just driving over to Cherokee as opposed to flying to Vegas.
