Live Trip Report - Aria Aug. 8-14

Hello all,

It's been a while but here I am, set to leave tomorrow morning. I hesitated to start this report the night before my departure and considered starting it once I arrived in Vegas by fear of jinx. Between the antigen test (negative, yay!), the prospective strike by the border services (solved!) and having the first leg of my flight cancelled this morning, I've started to feel it might not be my turn after all. But I'm packed and will give it my all - just don't be surprised if this thread disappears because I got stranded in Denver (!?).

My original itinerary was Ottawa - Toronto, Toronto-Vegas. It is now Ottawa-Montreal, Montreal-Denver, Denver-Vegas. With 1 hour between connections which always makes me nervous. As does having to find a gate in an airport I've never visited. If all goes well, it should see me in Vegas by 12.30pm which is exactly the same as my original route. I don't check luggage so I don't have to worry about that and I upgraded to business class for the long leg (Montreal-Denver).

Having not left Canada or Ontario/Quebec at all since January 2019, I find myself very anxious. Everything seems so far.

Anyways, presuming all goes right, the plans:

Aria for 6 night - 3 comp nights.
My usual shenanigans - KENOoooooo! Carbone, Julian Serrano. Nothing too new for the first time.

I know about the mask mandate, and I'm equipped with disposable and regular. I will need a PCR test 3 days out so I'll be checking the options. If any Canadians have done this recently, please let me know how it went.

So, tentatively, here we go.

I'm not Canadian, and I personally have not used this service, but I've read that REVIV at the Cosmopolitan is providing COVID tests and certificates for flying. You need to make an appointment, however. The phone number is 702-533-1143. You can find this on the Cosmo website also (under the shops tab).

Well, barely made it on plane. US customs took forever. Next stop: Denver (for some reason)
